Animated gifs happy birthday

Happy Birthday, Shoekitty.  Sorry it's a little late.

Congratulations to your granddaughter.  That sounds like a very good commercial she landed.  She should get a lot of exposure with it being a Honda advertisement.

Meezer, yes, I did get my Fiesta today.  I haven't had time to open the HL box yet, but the marigold place setting from Dishes Fast arrived in perfect condition.

"Talk" with you all later.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hi, Everyone:  Are you all outside enjoying this fabulous sunshine and warm weather.  The last two days here have just been full of sunshine and warmth.

I opened my HL box and have all four place settings in the dishwasher.  Pretty, pretty, pretty.  I am surprised.  Even though I have a fruit bowl of all the colors, I just never gave a thought to plum, but it is really pretty with peacock and marigold and sunflower.

Hope everyone is enjoying as good of weather as we are.

@wismiss   I have to agree with you.  Plum online always looked very dark to me and sort of dull.  In person, it is really pretty.  For some reason, most of the stores didn't carry it in stock so the only way to get it was to order it online.  I have all the pieces that I need to go with a place setting but I am sorry that I didn't buy it sooner.  In any case, I can see now why Plum was around for so many years.

@wismiss, so glad to hear your place settings arrived safe & sound!

I can imagine how beautiful.... sunflower, peacock, plum & marigold!

Hope you enjoy your sunshine!  We are having a storm come through tonight, high wind and rain.  Yikes.

@Meezerpleezer, I agree, plum was not carried in the stores.  I don't know how they expect it to sell when it is not there for people to see in person.

Take care all.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

I am replacing my dishes tomorrow with Fiestaware. A store in my area is having their Goodwill sale. I have two coupons for $50 off $100 purchase.  I am so excited!

I do have a question.  Which plate do you use as a dessert plate?  I know they have a salad plate, luncheon plate, etc but I don't see a dessert one.

Arggghhh!  I accidently deleted my own post.  Let's try again....

@cjones0822 Welcome to the world of Fiesta!  It's an obsession, but a happy one. Smiley Wink Please come back and tell us about your purchases and we'll be excited right along with you.  To answer your question, I think the salad plate is really a salad/dessert plate - it can serve either function.  Then there are the small bowls which would work for ice cream and other soft desserts.  I'm relatively new to Fiesta myself, but I'm sure that some of the "old pros" on this forum will have answers for you.

@wismiss I'm so glad that your place settings arrived in good condition and that they're everything you hoped they would be.  Those are some beautiful colors!

@shoekitty I'll be watching every Honda commercial like a hawk, to catch a glimpse of your grandaughter.  Please notify us when they start airing and tell us what to look for so we know if it's the right commercial.  You must be so excited and so proud!

@oceantown We must be getting the same bad weather.  It was awfully windy all day, but dry.  The rain is supposed to start tomorrow and continue for a few days.  There's a flood watch on Friday, which is supposed to be the wettest day.  Too bad we can't send it to California.

Good news - my orders from Dishesfast and Beall's both arrived today.  Kind of ironic, because the UPS man arrived just as we were leaving for my eye dr. appointment.  So I had to put the boxes aside and leave.  Then when I came home my eyes were too dilated to open the boxes for quite a while.  When I finally did get to check out my goodies, all was good.  The replacement mug from Beall's was fine, even though the packing was still substandard.  It's amazing that this one didn't break, too.  But it didn't and the seahorses on a turquoise java mug were worth waiting for.  The other box held the juniper mini pitcher from Dishesfast.  Wow.  You were all so right about juniper being a beautiful color - especially for someone like me who loves blues and greens.  And this little baby came in its original HL box.  For some reason that pleased me so much that I just couldn't throw away the little box.  I had to hold on to it.  I must be sliding down a slippery slope of crazed Fiesta collecting if I feel compelled to save the box.  Ye gads!

Good to see this board is moving along at a good pace lately.  @Meezerpleezer thanks to you for keeping it going when things were slow!
