@Meezerpleezer Just thought I'd pop in and say hi to you.  You and hubby are sleuthing around looking for all those new things.  I think I'll just call myself a fangirl for now as I'm not buying anything.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

@kutira I don't know where everyone has gone.  I can only assume 2 things.  One, they are busy with Thanksgiving and perhaps some Christmas preparations (decorating, cards, buying gifts) or two, they are not interested in buying Fiesta at this time.

I won't be cooking a turkey this year (or any year).  I won't be decorating for the holidays since I am never home.  I do plan to drive 2 hours to Winston Salem so that I can enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday but I don't really have anything in mind to buy at this time.  There are no malls here where I live and really no stores to speak of so I just want to be immersed in the excitement.

In any case, I am not very happy with the choices  that HL has given us.  There are really no new pieces and IF I buy anything at all, it MAY be something in Sage for DH since he likes it.  I may sleuth around for retired colors.  Some of the stores still have older colors, some of which I may want.  Other than that, I have nothing pressing to buy.

I knew that you probably wouldn't care about the newer pieces that  I posted:  hearts and dog/cat items but I did put it up to not only keep the thread alive but I hoped that it would get some comments.  I am guessing that the next time we have some real excitment on our thread is when the 2016 color is revealed.  So sad, as you said.

Wismiss,
Hope you are enjoying your new home. Do you have your fiesta in your hutch yet? How did the painting go? It all takes time, but it will be so nice when you are settled.

Shoekitty,
It was so sad to hear about your car stollen! That was a classic! You will miss it I am sure.

Kutira,
Hi to you!

Meezer,
Oh those Church Thanksgiving dinners are so nice. Sorry that will not happen this year for you. It is a lot of work though.

Thanks for keeping us all in-the-know about Fiesta sales! Thanks for posting the great photos of the pet collection and the valentine collection too!

I agree with you though, and there is nothing on my fiesta need to buy list. My good friend was shopping at Macy's during a great sale recently and asked her husband to pick out a couple place settings. She said he chose two sage and two tangerine. She said it has been the first time he has picked out fiesta ware, and she said she thought those two were pretty together.

Shoesnbags,
It was so interesting to read about Mr. Bingle. Thanks so much for the info about him. And welcome to the Fiesta thread! I loved reading your fiesta story. I Love the blues too. And flamingo!

ctinaw,

Welcome too, and so nice to hear from you. I love the teacups too. My first place setting purchase was 4 with the cups/saucer and 4 with the java mug. Later on I bought 4 more cup/saucer sets by themselves. I have two each in flamingo, white, turquoise & lemongrass.

I started collecting when peacock was a current color, and so I have some of those.

Hi, Raingirl!

Well everyone,

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. We are having dinner here with kids & grandkids and a friend. Not a huge group, but I could not take on making a turkey and all the sides. I know daughter will help and bring food too, but they have had two church turkey dinners recently, and we joined them for one of them. So, I think we are turkeyed out. A one-dish meal is something I can handle, so I am making lasagna for Thanksgiving. And I will make two pies tomorrow (Unless I decide to buy something already prepared). Daughter will bring salad & rolls.  (I still need to ask her, hahaha)

Our church is having a pie fellowship tomorrow (Wednesday evening). A short Thanksgiving devotion led by one of the men, and then we will all enjoy pie & coffee/tea. Mr. oceantown & I ordered the pie from a great restaurant, and we will have pumpkin, apple, berry, sourcream lemon (gluten free with graham crust) and chocolate cream (gluten free with cookie crust). We did not want people to have to bake as they probably have plenty to do at home.

I am sorry I have not popped in here and left a post to you all. I have read from time to time, and never felt I had the time & energy to do more than that. Still having a stressfull situation we are dealing with, although it is getting better.

I hope I have not forgotten anyone, but if I have it is because I am scatter brained and I will blame it on a senior moment!

Take care everyone! Hugs to all the fiesta friends!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hello all,

I haven't stopped reading this thread; just nothing new to contribute right now.  I will say that I'm disappointed in the "sale" emails I keep getting from Homer Laughlin.  Seems like it's always "buy 5, get one free" of each item, or buy this piece and get this piece at a reduced cost.  Well, I don't need five of anything.  I'd prefer just a really good sale price on an individual piece.  And that's my gripe for the day, ha ha.

I'm just taking a break from putting in my winter annuals - pansies and snapdragons.  We have SUCH a warm (hot?) fall that it's just not possible to put them in any earlier because they wilt & die in the heat.  My trees are only starting to drop their first leaves, and we've finally had a little cool spell, so I'm hard at work.  Kinda funny to see me out there, because I have a total knee replacement and have to scoot along on my backside instead of stooping down.  But it gets the job done. Woman Wink Tomorrow I'll be cooking for Thanksgiving, but since there will only be three of us, it won't be a really big job.  Wishing all of the Fiestanistas a very happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Shoesnbags, I bet your yard looks so pretty!

I agree with you about HL's sales.  Those buy 5 get one free annoy me to pieces.  And the other one you mentioned, buy this piece and get this piece at reduced (or free) cost.  Sometimes I don't think they understand their fiesta collectors very well.

Have a great Thanksgiving!
