Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Kutira--we should always be careful for what we wish for but here in the mtns., we could really use some sun and some heat here.  It has been overcast, sometimes stormy and cool (mid-hi 70's) for days.  That is wonderful weather for just about everything except our vegetable gardens.  The tomato plants look the same as they did 2 weeks ago when this weather started.  Nothing is turning red or develops flowers.  It is like suspended animation.  The only vegetable plants loving this weather is the rhubarb and the blueberries.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

I don't own any black, but tried to buy a black gusto bowl from Macy's yesterday. When I went to check out, they were gone. Guess it wasn't meant to be! I didn't end up buying anything from the sale.

I want a jam jar to keep my sea salt in, but I'm wondering what a good price is?? They have some for $20 on Amazon right now, but is that a good price??

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Jenn27:  I use this for my sea salt and just love it.  I put a little appetizer spoon in it to spoon the salt.  It is available from www.belk.com.  It is called a Fiesta Square Covered Box 9-oz.  usually $38.00, on sale for $24.99.  It is an exclusive to Belk's.  Unfortunately, they only have four colors---sunflower, peacock, lemongrass and scarlet.

I think Shoekitty has one, also, and I believe someone ordered a jam jar for the same purpose.  I really like the details and shape of the box and lid.  Just for your information.  Please let us know if you were able to find a jam jar.  Since that relish tray incident from e-bay, I'm a little hesitant to buy from there ever again.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Jenn:  Replacements, Hayneedle, and Homer Laughlin have the jam jar for $17.99.  Everything Kitchen has it for $14.20 and Kohl's has it for $18.90 with 30 per cent off $13.23, with SUNTAN30 and free shipping with JULYMVC.  I think those are the codes.  I can't get this stupid board to work right so I can go back to previous posts to find the codes again.  July 10 - July 19.  With the free shipping code it can be any amount and not the minimum $75 order.

Oooh! The Belk box! I forgot about that and don't own one. I was thinking lemongrass for the jam jar, so those color choices would work for me Smiley Wink

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Thanks Wismiss!!! I'll have to search around. Maybe I need both. One for sea salt and one for kosher. I DO currently use a jar for each!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

I love the beautiful roses and the vases & flowers!  I do not have even one piece of black.  Slate might make a nice vase too.  I saw a photo on facebook that had a sage vase filled with beautiful flowers.  It looked very nice.

That Macy's sale was too much to resist!  I went on-line and just looked.  But, while scrolling through the pieces of Fiesta I saw the medium hearts and they called to me!  So, two ivory medium hearts are on their way to me.  I can hardly wait!

I have two scarlet medium hearts, and I love ivory and scarlet together.

I am even thinking they would look nice together in a circle, either with the points toward the center, or the points toward the outside.  If the points are toward the outside, there can be a bowl in the center.  I am thinking of a veggie platter or fruit platter with dip!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Wismiss, I absolutely love the belk's square box you posted.  I think they are so cute.  Perfect for salt or pepper!

What is interesting to me, is that they still list peacock.  I wonder since peacock is now discontinued, if they will add another color choice.  I have not read a thing about that though.

Take care, everyone!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hi, everyone,

My 2 ivory medium hearts are on their way to me.  Ordered on the 15th, shipped on the 16th, and estimated delivery by Fed Ex on Thursday.  I am so excited to receive them!

Jenn27,

I really enjoyed reading your posts.  Too bad it did not work out for you to order the black gusto bowl.  But like you said, it was not meant to be.

Have you decided about a salt jar yet?  I just love the belk box, but have not seen one in person.  Lemongrass would be so pretty for salt.  I think the jam jar would work well too, and that is a very cute piece.  If you wanted to get two boxes, you could have lemongrass and another color.  One for sea salt and one for kosher.

Take care, everyone!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Somehow I have made it this long without a Kohl's charge, so the other day I loaded up my cart with TWO jam jars (lemongrass and peacock), plus some glasses and a dish towel with plans to use the 30% off, free shipping, and $10 off $50 purchase. I signed up for the card, but when I went to check out, I realized that I forgot to write down the number of the card!!! So without the discounts, I didn't buy anything. Now I'm back to square one!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hi , Everyone.

What did the Oceantown household have for breakfast this morning?  I always look forward to your menus.  They are so healthy and look so appetizing.

Oceantown, isn't it something how a color that has been around for so long now suddenly becomes interesting?  I'm kind of that way with flamingo.  I really like the little bouillon bowl I bought in the three colors but was surprised how well flamingo went with them.

Jenn27:  I am sure another black gusto bowl will come along, but if you don't want to wait or don't want to take the chance finding one since it is a retired color, I would suggest checking out the price on replacements.com.  HL does have them in stock yet for $11.99, but their shipping is kind of high if you don't get that minimum amount for free shipping.  Canton Dish Barn has black gusto bowls for .....................$9.51.  They do have a spot to estimate your shipping charges using your zip code.

If anyone is looking for a black piece of Fiesta, Canton Dish Barn has three pages of items, although some are already out of stock.

Kutira, not sure if you are interested in purchasing anything at this time, but Canton Dish Barn does have two pages of peacock items available.
