I decided to post because I've been reading through and trying to catch back up here. It's been a while, but I'm still on the bench. Big time. I recently decided that I was sick of my square Fiestaware, went to the outlet in WV, and purchased all new plates and a whole slew of bowls too! Oops. You saw pictures. Now I have a happy rainbow of color and I can't bring myself to get rid of the square. I guess I'll have both ![]()
You guys are cracking me UP with the loaf pans! I have 3, but one was accidentally given to me at the outlet a few years back! I do bake bread, and sometimes use all 3 at one time. I actually need another so my pyrex can retire for when I double up and do 4 loaves at once.

Sarah, bring me to your home, please. It gets lonely in the store here at night when everyone has gone home. I just want to be in a nice home with people who think I am pretty. P-L-E-A-S-E.
Thank you.

Hello ladies: I don't know how you can think about baking bread when the weather is so hot.
Shoekitty, I tried to quote your post to answer you but can't do it.
I borrowed the name kutira from an old cd; use it a lot as a go-to extra name when I want to be anonymous.
Enjoy your Kohl's sale! (Remember I'm boycotting them, plus I only buy retired colors.)

Jenn27: I have decided to buy four place settings with the Java mug. I'll probably buy them one place setting at a time to make it easier on the budget. Do the square place settings have the Java mug for the cup? That's what it looks like in the pictures. I have still not decided the colors and have considered the square plates.
Was there a reason you wanted to get the other place settings, or was it just that you wanted a change? Was there any pros and cons to the square vs. the round when it comes to storage, room on the table, etc.?
So glad you were enjoying the banter about the loaf pan. Like you, I love to bake my bread in them, but I also like everything from meatloaf to banana bread, also. The Fiesta is so nice and heavy that the food bakes evenly and gets a nice color on the outside.
Well, it's past my bedtime, so I'm going to sign off. Please stop in frequently. We all enjoy hearing from you.

Wismiss: I love the square, but we only got 4 colors when we got married and I wanted a rainbow. I probably could have filled in the square with other colors, but I wanted the round plates so I could get more of a variety of colors. Our square is scarlet, tangerine, chocolate, and ivory. It's dark and with 12 dinner plates, I just didn't need more to make if bright and fun! As far as storage, the bowls don't stack very well because they don't nest at all. The mug is different, I believe, though they do look almost identical to the java mugs. I just don't have a java mug to compare to. I will keep my square luncheon plates (got them separately at the outlet) because luncheon is our favorite size in any plate, and I'm keeping several bowls in the cabinet.
My Dad recently had a business meeting in Flatwoods, near the outlet, and I sent him back to see if they had any colors I don't have! Got my first poppy (dinner plate) and 2 more luncheon plates (ivory and paprika) as well as the large mixing bowl (or is it baking bowl?) You should have seen the Facetime conversation between me and my dad and his employee! The guy put the bowl on his head so I could make sure it was the big one
I'm tempted to go to the tent sale in October, but we'll see if I'm off the bench yet. But really, when you're shopping at the outlet, it's not too bad!!

Good morning, everyone. Well, we now have roads closed due to flooding, people who have had to evacuate their homes in some areas by the river, and the UPS driver was saying his route has been cut because he can't get to some homes due to the flooded roads. Yikes, can you imagine---not being able to get a UPS delivery when you know something is coming? No, seriously, I feel for those people.
Jenn, what a funny story about the bowl on the guy's head. I do have the 3 piece baking bowl set and the 2 piece set but there is no way I nest them all together---that is one heavy set isn't it? I find I use the two/three smaller bowls for a lot of different things and very seldom use the large ones, as I have the 6 qt. pro KitchenAid. I saw in a flyer from Chef's, I think it was, the other day that there is also a 7 qt. pro KitchenAid. I had never seen that before.
Thanks for the info about the square sets. I don't think I had explored enough to realize that the colors are more limited than the round. And, the bowls not stacking---I would not like that. Storage space is always at a premium in a kitchen, at least in my experience.
I hope everyone has a good day. The sun is shining and the wind is gently blowing, so maybe some of this moisture will dry up and people will be able to get back in their homes. Can you imagine the mess to clean afterward, though?

Shoekitty--what a hoot!
Claudia would not like to be outside--ever! The picture that I like the best is the angry cat who is outside and very wet. I see extended claws like a rotary sawblade coming for the person who left that cat out. Thanks for posting!

Omg I am still laughing when you said claws coming like a rotary blade, hahah.. I can just see that cat spitting with that deep, angry, gutteral growl they get when scaared or mad! The yellow cat with that pitiful look reminds me of Pus and Boots from Shrek, when he was begging
