3d--In MD, we call Coke/Pepsi products "soda", too. Here in NC, it is the same. I have noticed that some seem to call all carbonated beverages "Coke" but that is the exception.
I would think that some of the large stores near you will be getting their sample pieces of Sage/Slate very soon. I know that the BonTon in Park City had the Poppy plate last year around the end of May when I was there. Have you been shopping in any of those really nice malls where the large dept stores are located? They might just have them out on display. If not, oh well, you can just shop for other things. Not so bad!

LADIES!!! I HAVE MISSED YOU SOOO!!
I am SOO sorry to have been gone this long. It's been a crazy, insane, hectic, bad, good, strange year so far for me. I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day.
To quickly catch everyone up on my goings-on: The divorce paperwork is all filed with my lawyer, everything should be final in June. I met a man in January, strangely enough, that has been an unbelievable source of strength and humor and support for me during everything, I didn't think this would happen (much less this quickly- I am being careful, no worries
) Cassie and Mango are doing very well, they will need to check in soon. Work has still be stressful, I've made the decision to leave retail for good, I've been focusing on that recently.
I hope everyone has been doing well, I need to catch up on this thread. Hugs to everyone, and I will try not to be as much of a stranger!!
Also, no new Fiesta purchases for me, booooo ![]()

3d, thanks! That store was so nice and the lady there was so nice. I love organization, and that store was organized and the fiesta displays were so pretty. I think that is one of the reasons I made a purchase there. I could not leave empty handed. I want to go back! But I have no idea when I would be back in Tacoma.
Speaking of soft drinks, I always called it pop, like everyone in our area. Then we moved to florida for a few years and no one called it pop. Some people called it coke, no mater if it was coke or not. That always cracked me up. Some called it soda.
Then we moved back to Oregon, but I think our town has so many people who have come here from other areas and I hardly know what most people call it now. We have a lot of tourists too. Plus, we don't drink the stuff anymore, lol. Maybe that is why I don't know what it is called!
Even when the grand kids come over, they know we have no sugar vitamin water or no sugar SoBe, and so they ask for it by flavor. Orange, strawberry kiwi, lemonade, etc. It is sure different being a kid now a days! haha. One time not long ago our 8 yr. old grandson went into the spare room, and we had been to the store to stock up during a sale and had a shelf filled with vitamin water. I heard...... "Wow, look at all the vitamin water!!!" haha.
Meezer, thanks for posting the plates! I am anxious to see the Christmas plates too. I think they will eventually have the 12 days of Christmas, and I think they will have just a few each year. That is if my memory is correct, from what I learned from the posts during the Home Show.
Surprise, how great to see you! I am glad you checked in with us. It sure does sound like a busy time for you, and it sounds like an emotional time too. You take care and I hope the very best for you. I have a family member that was in retail for so long, and managed two different stores at the same time and he wanted out of that soooo bad. Terrible hours and stress, especially during Christmas. He got a new job and really likes the change. I hope you find the perfect job for you. Take care!
Has anyone else seen Slate and Sage in person yet?
I am anxious to hear what you all think of the new colors when you see them in person.
When we were at kitchen basics our SIL was the first to shout out to us, the new colors are over here! Daughter & I were taking our time trying to take it all in, and he had gone further into the store and found the new colors. We spent a little time putting other colors with the sage and slate. Daughter & SIL really loved sage & ivory. I did too.
Take care all!

Surprise!!!!!! I am so glad that you popped in! I am also glad to hear that Mango and Cass are doing well, too. What do you think of the new colors, Sage and Slate?
You know us; just drop in any time to chat. No purchase necessary.

Ocean--I believe that you are correct. There will be 12 Christmas plates for the 12 days of Christmas. I don't remember but I believe that there were going to be 3 or 4 released each year.
It is amazing to me how many variations of Fiesta are created for a variety of stores and groups. On ebay, you can see all sorts of things that were never seen in any store near me. All the snowmen variations and other Christmas plates plus plates like the new purchases that 3d made with the pineapples. I guess that if you don't live in the area, you don't know (especially if you are like me and don't know that the store even exists in order to shop online). This past Christmas, I had really wanted to see the Macy's special plate for Christmas: blue with the white, gold and maybe silver snowflakes. There was also a java mug. I tried to order it and it was unavailable. I liked the idea of a plate that was "winter" instead of just holiday. Maybe HL couldn't get them made in time for the holidays. Maybe it will appear this year.
I guess that is part of the excitement of Fiesta.

Surprise!!! So good to hear from you. You have been missed. Cassie and Mango have been missed too. I'm glad to hear you are all well. I know divorce is draining and such an emotional roller coaster ride. When I was going through mine, I swore off men. I could see my future by myself for a while before I got into another relationship. Well before my divorce was final, I met DH. Of course, I was extremely cautious and apprehensive because this was not the plan I had laid out in my head, but here we are thirty years later still happy and still together! Life just has its own way of taking over.
In the meantime, remember you are number one and you deserve the best! I hope you can get out of your job and find a better one. However, I understand it is all about the money and until you can hook up with something you might want, you have to hang in there.
Looking forward to hearing from you again -- hang in there!

Meezer and Ocean -- I don't know if I could take any more excitement with Twelve Days of Christmas dishes. It all might be too overwhelming for me. I love Christmas and if HL also keeps making those cute little reindeer plates, there will be a UPS delivery truck dedicated to me.
It is funny how all over our country things are called by different names. I have lived here on the East Coast much longer than I lived in Pittsburgh; however, DH says when I get excited and I start to talk fast, he hears my Pittsburgh accent come back!
‎05-08-2015 08:25 PM
3d--I just bought a "buy it now" Fiesta reindeer plate. I had the one from last year and didn't have the first plate (lights tangled in the antlers). I bet that Belks has a new design for the coming Holiday.
I live in a small community. Everyone knows that DH and I are not from here since our accents are different. We have a very hard time understanding some of the natives when they speak. It isn't a southern accent. It is a an accent that has Scottish/irish roots. They talk softly, slur their words together and don't pronounce things the same or use the same words for an object as DH and me (like you pop/soda example). For example, a toboggan to me is a sled. To the locals, it is a hat.
‎05-08-2015 08:53 PM
A hat!! Oh boy, oh boy would I have some kind of trouble there. I am terrible understanding accents. DH can't get over how much trouble I have. Many, many years ago when I was working in Pittsburgh, I was talking to the secretary to my boss' supervisor here in Philly. I could not understand her at all and I finally asked her what country she was from? She told me she was born and raised in northeast Philadelphia! Oops!! When I finally moved here, I found a little bit of a language barrier and I only went 300 miles!
