Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

I stumbled into the Kohl's store near me the other day and they are still selling Flamingo and Marigold. Not seeing them at other retailers since they are discontinued.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Hi ittyreen--welcome back. I am also on pins and needles, waiting for the release of the new color. If you have read some of the later posts on this thread, I think that most of us think that the new color will be either a Slate/Charcoal color to replace the retiring Black as a neutral color or a Jade green. None of us have any insider info, though, so we all have to wait another 2 weeks to find out.

As for colors, I have a place setting in each of 9 colors. Of my 9 colors, my least favorite is Scarlet. I am not sure that I have a favorite but I do own more pieces in Marigold and Turquoise than in the other colors that I own.

I have seen the same thing as well. I was able to get an additional place setting of Marigold for a very low price. I was thrilled.

I haven't participated in this thread in quite a while. I'm anxiously awaiting the new color. Does anyone have a favorite color OR a most versatile color? For me, I love the IVORY because it's more of a soft yellow than a true ivory. The most versatile is PAPRIKA as it seems to go with everything.

Hi ittyreen and welcome back! I think all of us have certain colors that we like best, though I pretty much love them all! My personal favorites are paprika, juniper and ivory. I don't have a "rainbow" collection like many of the other Fiestanistas; most of mine are paprika with several mugs in assorted colors.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

DH was looking at Fiesta for me this morning. He came upon a site selling Restaurant dishes and of course, Homer Laughlin Fiesta is sold on this site (by the doz. or more). He found a piece that I haven't seen but maybe we chatted about on the other thread. I don't know. Anyway, here it is, the Fiesta 10" Sunrise Soup Bowl In Sunflower:

  • Model #: 0076
  • Pattern #: 0320
  • Homer Laughlin China 076-320 Sunflower 10The top shot wouldn't copy but the handles are directly opposite each other even though they look like they may be at an angle. It reminds me in a way of a pedestal bowl with handles because of the foot. The description says: "This Sunrise 10" cream soup bowl w/ handle features the sculpted rings and sunny yellow body style of the Fiesta® Sunflower line."

I guess that this was an idea that HL didn't think would appeal to the average comsumer.

I LOVE that soup bowl. I want them! Who sells them? Besides 24 at Amazon?

Shoekitty--I like the bowl as well. DH saw it on Wasserstrom's website. HL sells Fiesta through this site in many colors.

Unfortunately, like Amazon, since it is made for restaurants, they are packed in a case of 24. What I wonder is if individual bowls can be purchased through the factory store. I know that they don't on their site. However, if presented with the part number and name and description, if they would sell you the amount that a customer might want.

Too bad we all don't live near each other, we could split the case.

I am perusing through the colors and piece available on Wasserstrom's site. There are pieces made by HL, called Fiesta and in Fiesta colors that aren't available to the average consumer:

This 12.25 oz Nappie grapefruit dish features the sculpted rings and bright orange body style of the Fiesta® Tangerine line.

Homer Laughlin China 194325 Tangerine 12-3/4 Oz. Nappie - 36 / CS

This 12" square plate features the orange body and sculpted rings style of the Fiesta® Tangerine and Cobalt lines.

This 6.25 oz fruit dish features the sculpted rings and lipstick-red body style of the Fiesta® Scarlet line.

  • Capacity: 6.25 oz Homer Laughlin 459326 Fiesta Scarlet 6.25 oz Fruit Dish - 12 / CS
  • Diameter: 5-3/8" (looks like a mini pedestal bowl) They also have the regular fruit bowl which is a little smaller.

Meezer,

Interesting pieces! I have never seen that handle soup bowl.

The nappie bowl reminds me of the bowl from the Fiesta Diner collection, which is now discontinued. I liked the checker pattern and the stripe was kinda cute too.
