Speaking of cake plates, when looking for a picture to post in #179, I saw this creation:
I know that either Ocean or 3d has made something like this before but without the cake cover. It looks nice!

Ocean: Do you think these are the small mixing bowls?

On 1/7/2015 wismiss said:Welcome, love_to_read. You and I have a lot in common. I also love to read and I really love Fiesta. While I don't have any place settings of Fiesta, I have a lot of other things---bowls, bakeware, serving pieces, etc. In fact, we purchased a custom made hutch with a couple of glass doors so my pretty, happy Fiesta colors would show. What pieces do you have? What colors do you like? Have you ever used "Colorama" on the HL site?
Do you post on the Book Club forum or the e-reader forum? If you do, I might just mosey I have begun with a few pieces. Going with mainly cobalt, but I'd like to accent with a few others( white, red, possibly a bit of green). I just think this would "pop" my decor... With fiesta, I just thinking " missing" colors is the key..?? Please correct me if I'm wrong

Hi, Wismiss,
I love a mystery, lol!
The bowls looks like the one quart bowl on Macy's website, and the measurements are the same as the bowls on shop goodwill. 8.25 inches by 2.75 inches.
http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/fiesta-1-quart-large-serving-bowl?ID=2299
This bowl is listed on HL as the large bowl, (471).
The small mixing bowl picture that Meezer posted shows a great view of the base, and the edge which is rather round, instead of the flat shape. The small mixing bowl is 7 1/2 inches diameter and about 3 1/2 inches high.
Oh, one more thing, the backstamp of the shop goodwill bowl is blurry, but it looks like CCCB or CCCD, and CCC indicates the year of 2014 so we know it is not an older piece.
This was fun. Take care!

3d,
I love your pictures! I think the flamingo sugar looks so cute with your omni trays. Like you said, it is a bonus that you can have a lid on the dip. I also love your medium mixing bowls and they were such a great price too.
Take care!

Hi all
Back from surgery and icing right now. All went well. My knee is still numb and wrapped up, but I have to say it actually feels better than I when I went in this morning. Doctor said knee was super bad, especially on left side, he said no wonder the pain was as bad . He did say this should "help a bit" but I need knee replacement. Hopefully this will get me through dealing with back issues for now.
Love all the pictures. I have both of the bowls you were showing in latest pictures. The mixing bowl I have has that footed edge, and it is pretty roomy. The other bowl is smaller and sort of reminds me of a different size pasta bowl.

Yay, shoekitty, so glad to hear from you and that you are doing well! Pray you have a good and quick recovery. It must feel so good to know that is done and now you can concentrate on recovery.
Take care and feel better soon.

meezer,
I miss DaniM too, but I could not remember her exact nic. I am glad you reminded me her nic, and I was able to look at the last couple times she posted. I sure hope she is doing OK, and her family too.
You should be a fiesta designer! You have some great ideas about how to best hold & display the omni trays. Thanks for posting all those great pictures!
I love that idea for a cake plate. I do not have the hostess bowl, but I have used a bowl to make a little raised plate/server. It really makes it look special.

I love Fiesta, started buying it ten years ago and own so much of it, some vintage pieces too. I love mixing the colors. In our home I do shades of blue and red. In our condo, I do shades of orange, yellow and green. I will never own anything else!
