My husband loves Spam.  Don't ask me why, it's not my jam.  But it doesn't have to be.

I'm sure once this is all over, he'll keep a case of it in the basement and treat it like gold. To him that is gold.

I know a lot of people like it and it has a lot of recipes for it's use.

Are you a Spam lover?  The meat I mean.

I think the shelf life of Spam is pretty long, so as long as you're using it, no one will be able to accuse you of hoarding!

My mom used to make it taste like gourmet fare, but that was right after WW2, and it had been developed for soldiers, so I suppose a lot of recipes were developed in an attempt to be patriotic.

I sort of remember "patriotism". As I recall it was a very positive, generous, all-embracing feeling.

Allergic to fresh pork products.  Tried the "Turkey Spam".  Used it once.  Didn't like it.  Threw away the rest of the can.

My DH likes Spam also....not me !  He likes it 'fried up tight', as he puts it ..The bacon, pepper and hickory smoke flavors are a nice change for him.

Yes, we like it.

It's always handy to have just in case you have not made it to the grocery store and run out of things, it's a fast meal to make on those days you just don't feel like cooking, etc.  We buy the low sodium version.

I like Spam, too!

I slice it up thin and douse Mrs. Buttersworth on it then saute in a non-stick pan - yum!  The sweet and salty flavor comes out and is a nice treat once in awhile.

No Spam for us!

I understand it's a real favorite in Hawaii!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

A wile back DH and I will hit up Walmart for stuff, can't do this often because we end up needing walk all aisles throughout that store. For the few items on the grocery list, somehow we end up spending easy $200.00 or so.

Walking the aisle where the spam is I was totally blown away at ALL the flavors they make. I had no idea!!! There must have been 7-8 flavors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Seriously that many!!!!

Not sure I'd really like to share this but yes, as a kid WAY BACK WHEN we as a family spam showed up on the dinner table once or twice. We all ate it. Fry it up in a pan, not bad - really.

Hahaha!

I have one can of Spam in the pantry.

I bought it about four months ago as a nod to my Mom.

The dish she made was actually very tasty.

Spam and green pepper, diced (not too small) and sautéed in butter.  Spam should be a little browned.

Dump all of this over egg noodles adding lots of freshly ground pepper and maybe a little more butter.

Truly, would sent you the can if it were possible.

I have one can of Spam in my pantry.  I'm on rations here.  Looks like it will be my Easter ham.  No hams in the stores.
