No.  I love my mom.  Why?

Nothing intended, just a thought.  Sometimes a loving memory of an experience I shared with my mother will come to mind, and it always makes me happy.

Oh, I get you.Smiley Happy  Yes that's true.

Speaking of spaghetti has anyone used a microwave pasta cooker?  I just happened to click on HSN the other day, they were selling this item for $17.99 plus s/h, it cooks pasta in minutes, I am on the fence about ordering, I looked online, Amazon sells it for alot cheaper.

I have a microwave pasta maker that I got well over 20 years ago from QVC.  I think it was two for around $15ish.  I've used it when I don't want to wash pots and the pasta comes out just fine.  Once you get the hang of it,  based on your microwave, you can figure out how long to let it cook to get it to the stage you like.

Very odd and I have never heard of this before. It always comes out the same way it goes in, lol.

Re: Spaghetti.....what happened?

I have no answers for you but I always break my pasta in half and then throw it in the boiling water.

I used to always throw a little olive oil in the water to keep the pasta from sticking and I've heard Lydia B and countless other chefs telling viewers not to do that as then the sauce won't stick to the pasta.  I NEVER had that issue.  I don't put it in now because I forget and am now out of the habit.

Re: Spaghetti.....what happened?

I always break my spaghetti in half as I drop into boiling water (and the water has a drop of olive oil in it.)  I am not a chef and I absolutely hate cooking.  This was the way my mother cooked spaghetti and it works for me.  I always mix my sauce into the drained spaghetti but my husband liked the sauce spooned onto his plate of spaghetti.

They sell spaghetti noodles like that now in most stores. You may have picked up a box/bag/pkg without even noticing bc I did the same thing. It was the Barilla brand that I bought so I didn't even notice the cut spaghetti on the box.

No.  I'm thinking they were old.  Didn't even realize pasta might have an expiration date.  But it tasted fine.

@Northray   Good grief ~ what kind of spaghetti are you using? I've never heard of the result you're having with yours today. I hope it tasted good.
