Re: Sometimes I scare myself with what an idiot I can be

Sometimes I'll find last night's vegetables still in the 'wave the following day.

Guess I wasn't as hungry as I thought.

You're in good company. This weekend I washed bedding. I put fitted and flat sheet and pillowcases on guest bed. Then I remember thinking -- I can't put bedspread on until I find that top sheet. It must still be in the dryer. I looked all over the house thinking I laid the top sheet somewhere. Went back to guest room. Everything was on except bedspread. I must have gotten distracted. Either that or....poltergeists.

My DH found one of those big dryer balls in the pocket of his pants. Asked if there was some meaning to it.

I did almost the same thing yesterday.  I took some pork chops out of the freezer and put them in the sink to defrost for dinner.  I forgot about them and had salad instead.  This morning while making coffee I saw the pork chops still sitting in the sink.  Maybe the feral cats can eat them.

@AuntG   I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair!  I use those dryer balls, too...........and they end up in such strange places..........like sleeves and pant legs.........di

Yeah, Bummer but nothing serious!

Multi-tasking is usually the cause- My friend just broke her arm 3 days ago. She fell while she trying to pull some weeds while in the phone with the cable company...

Last week I bought ice cream and left it in the car all day when it was 90 degrees outside.  I discovered it the next day.  What a sticky mess. So don't feel bad.

Re: Sometimes I scare myself with what an idiot I can be

I once put a bowl of mashed potatoes into a still-warm oven to hold for second helpings.  Only we didn't have seconds.

Several days later, something started smelling really bad.  By the time I tracked it back to the oven, those potatoes had liquified and looked like a microbiology project.  It's been decades, but I've never forgotten how awful those potatoes were.  I threw the whole thing, bowl and all, into the trash.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

Re: Sometimes I scare myself with what an idiot I can be

I think I beat you with my mess... had a friend over for dinner and made rice in my Le Creuset small Dutch oven..we shared a couple glasses of wine..I cleaned up the dishes, put the covered Le Creuset sitting on the stove, thinking I already washed it, in its place on the shelf..fast forward TWO weeks later, I grab the Dutch oven from the shelf to use for dinner, opened the lid...I am not even going to describe what was inside.  And I certainly wasn’t going to discard the rice bacteria colony with the Le Creuset.  Let’s just say I will never forget that stupid move...
