I have mixed feelings. At first, I was completely sold on the idea. It's really convenient to mix your pop as needed and to not have to lug the big bottles or cases home, then need a place to store them. A couple of the flavors are very good, but others take getting used to because they definitely are NOT just like the ones they're trying to copy. And after reading labels, I was disappointed to learn that all the flavors contain sucralose, even the non-diet ones.

Not anymore. In the last year or so, they came out with new flavors that do not contain any artificial sweeteners. Definitely a good move!!

You're right, I stand corrected. I think I read that there are some, but not in the wide assortment as the others. I'm going to have to track these down and maybe give them a try, if they're in flavors we usually use....mainly cola, root beer, and mt. dew.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

Just to clarify, I wouldn't use it for pop...just can't....if I drink it, I want the real diet coke.

I would use it only for flavored water. Do you use it enough for flavored water alone?

I like mine, I drink more homemade ginger ale than anything. I mostly use those mio and like flavorings.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

Well, after looking all of the posts through, I'd say it's like anything in life.....it depends on the buyer.

In other words, if you're interested, try it and see if YOU like it. No one can decide if you will like the flavor other than YOU.

I can see if you're interested in if the item itself holds up, but as far as taste, that's totally up to the person who is doing the tasting.

My friend has one and she loves it.

I'm a Pepsi drinker from waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. I only like Pepsi Throwback (with real sugar).

I limit the amount I drink.

Although I don't own one, my sis does and uses hers every single day. She drinks seltzer like water and flavors it sometimes, but most of the time does not. She loves that it's really all reusable and she's not throwing away cans and bottles all the time, too.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

I've had mine about two years and I really like it. When I don't want ""soda pop"" I add some Mio drops for a lightly flavored carbonated beverage. I also use powdered drink mixes with my already carbonated water. There are so many options and ways to enjoy ""fizzy"" water!

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

The Soda Stream is the only item I have ever purchased from QVC that I was not thrilled with. The machine worked great; however, I just did not care for the beverages. I gave it to my oldest daughter and her family and they also were not fans of it. We all seem to like the real thing!

No, I gave up soda two years ago. May I suggest if you like carbonation try the Sparkling Ice, or Refreshers. I drink them all day long. No sugar & no calories at all.
