Soda Stream - is it worth it?

Do you have a soda stream and love it? Is it worth the price?

I'm a carbonation junkie and can't get enough. I have had to restrict myself to one or two diet cokes every day. The only reason I drink it is because it's carbonated. I also drink carbonated flavored water. I might drink more of it if I had the soda stream. But would I?

So, those who have one, what do you think? Do you regularly use it? Is it worth it?

Thanks.

I am a seltzer drinker (soda water), and for me, it's worth it.Smile Not to mention, I don't have to haul home those bottles of seltzer from the grocery store.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

We have a soda stream and really enjoy it, we can just flavor the carbonated water if we choose or pick a favorite flavor like coke, root beer, or lemonade. I figure I am saving probably ten dollars a week because I am not buying pop anymore. We get our syrups at Bed Bath and Beyond because the prices are great and the variety is a lot. We are very happy with our purchase. I also think it is better for you than drinking regular or diet pop.

My sister bought one to cut down on bottles/cans. She mainly bought it for her kids, but they won't drink it. She drinks it though and loves it.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

We enjoy ours very much, use it all the time. We don't use the syrups but we mix carbonated water with whatever we are drinking such as fruit juice and kool aid and anything you can think of. We don't like really sweet drinks so this cuts the sweet and it works out just great. We also drink just the water with lemon or some kind of fruit often. It's really delicious with frozen watermelon!

I hate all the flavors that came with it, but I use the seltzer to make egg creams now and then.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

I have mixed feelings. At first, I was completely sold on the idea. It's really convenient to mix your pop as needed and to not have to lug the big bottles or cases home, then need a place to store them. A couple of the flavors are very good, but others take getting used to because they definitely are NOT just like the ones they're trying to copy. And after reading labels, I was disappointed to learn that all the flavors contain sucralose, even the non-diet ones.

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

Hi....I bought the soda stream when it first came out thinking I would save money and not have to lug those cases of soda from the store....WRONG.....

I dislike the flavor and after injecting the soda or fizz it does not keep in the fridge long....and goes flat very quickly.....

I wish someone would have warned me ......it is now sitting in a storage closet in our basement.....we never use and a real pain in the neck....this is an expensive gimmick item..

I never replaced the gas cylinder and think it is more than half full....the empty bottles don't hold a lot of soda...not like the large plastic bottles....if I were you I would take a pass on this item, plus it takes up space on your counter.....good luck ...laibish

Re: Soda Stream - is it worth it?

We've had ours for almost a year now and like it very much. We have decreased our soda consumption considerably for several years now, and having our SodaStream makes it convenient for us when we have a taste for it. Yes, the cola does not taste exactly like Pepsi or Coke, but the cherry cola, Dr. Pete's (Dr. Pepper) and root beer are all very good. The largest bottle is a one liter size, so we purchased another one. Covers to the bottles have a silicone seal in them. so the soda keeps it's fizz longer than store bought. The flavored syrups are available at many stores. So glad that we purchased it.
