Tonight I was really tired and that's another reason I love using an electric pressure cooker. I have one pot to clean. While dinner was cooking, I cleaned up my cutting board, knives, counters, etc. By the time dinner was finished, I was left with one pot to clean.
This evening, I put a little olive oil in the bottom and browned ground chicken and red onion. Then I added sliced mushrooms and red peppers and continued for a few more minutes in the "sear mode." I added a large jar of ready made sauce, 1 cup of water, and a 13 oz box of whole wheat pasta. Stirred it all together, and set on 10 minutes. Took 5 minutes to come up to pressure; so that's a total of 15 minutes.
I usually like my pasta al dente. It comes out of the p.c. a little softer. But it has absorbed all of the flavors. To me it was perfect for a quick meal on a day when I'm exhausted and have the grandbabies here. The alternative would have been ordering pizza, and I didn't want to do that.
Your dinner sounds delicious!!! thanks for the tips on how to add the pasta and timing it. I have only used mine twice so far. Going to do something similiar to what you did tomorrow.
LisaB...I have a suggestion. I added 1 cup of water when I made mine. You might want to add a little more. I think, when I make this again, I may try 1-1/2 cups because the pasta absorbed a lot of the liquid. Play around with the amount until you find the perfect texture. This was the first time I ever cooked the pasta along with everything else.
On the good side, because the mixture was nice and thick, my 3 year old grandson couldn't find any of the veggies I hid in the sauce, and ate everything, lol.
Thank you for the advice. I just love this pressure. cooker and will be cooking today. or rather it will be cooking today and i will just fill and clean it. So great!!

I bought the Simply Ming Pressure Cooker when it launched and have used it every week since. I think it is the best pressure cooker I have ever owned. Two friends have now purchased and are in love as well. I didn't have issues with my Cook's Essentials pressure cooker with the exception of getting a replacement gasket (Cook's Essentials no longer is in the business of replacement parts). The ceramic nonstick coating in the Simply Ming is OUTSTANDING! The lid rotates, locks, and unlocks more smoothly than any other I have ever owned. It's a great buy that is well worth it. Hope this helps.

I had ordered this pressure cooker for friends as a housewarming gift. They have been using it several times a week and really are crowing about it.
It's so nice to give a gift that is that much appreciated, especially since I ordered it after the day when it was a TSV and I paid more than $200.00 total.
I also ordered Meredith's Laurence's Comfortable under Pressure for them which they love.
