LisaB, I would just gently say this . . . I believe this is a new item today so it is untested and I personally like to wait until at least some reviews are in before making that large of a purchase.
That being said, I have owned both a Cook's Essentials PC and now an InstantPot. To me there is no comparison, the InstantPot is really a great appliance. My food came out so much better out of the InstantPot than it did out of the CE (and I am not the best cook). I could not believe the difference and it is a breeze to use and clean up.
Before you purchase anything, I would recommend taking a quick look at Amazon to see both the reviews and the pricing on the various InstantPot models.

I totally agree with MTC. I had the same experience with the CE PC and the Instapot. The Instapot is superior. I haven't had mine too long, but I love it.

I personally love it! I cook for just me so I have a meal in literally minutes. You can cook from frozen if you have forgotten to take out something for dinner which is nice if you are forgetful (like me).
What's great about pressure cooking is that you get to sear whatever meat you are preparing so you get the yummy browning effect and then after you start the actual pressure cooking cycle, minutes later you have dinner. It's nice that both Ming's PC and the InstantPot include a rack for the bottom of the pot. You can elevate your seared meat (or veggies) so they don't get so soggy sitting in the liquid during the actual pressure cooking cycle.
I tried very hard to master crockpot cooking and for me it just didn't go well. This was something that worked well for me immediately. If you cook for a family, I think it would be a great appliance for you to look into.

I love pressure cooking too. I use mine probably 5 times a week. Seriously. I leave mine out all the time. I actually have it sitting on a large silicone mat on top of my range top. My vent (above my range) is right there to get the steam when I let the pressure off. I don't use my stove top much.

I think this is a slightly updated version from the one Todd English sold a few years ago. The power pad has been relocated and the color of the pot has been changed because they are using thermalon 2. Also all the attachments that come with it are identical.
I did purchase the Todd English one and love it.

I took a chance and ordered it. I've also seen the Instapot and it had great reviews. However, the controls on the bottom really caught my eye, in the Simply Ming pressure cooker. And, I really love his thermalon pots and pans.
I've had several electric pressure cookers, with the control panels on the front, and the control panels have all failed in less than a year.
So, between the new position of the control panel, the simplicity of the control panel, and the thermalon interior, I decided to take a chance.
If I don't like it, I'll return it and get the Instapot.

I keep trying to catch a presentation but I always just miss it. Ugh!
I hope whomever buys it is happy with it and gives us a shout back. I would love to hear what people think about it!
