@wagirl I can't believe I'm saying this, but I don't think the price is that outrageous, only because it comes out to around $6 per scone.

That's a little less than double what you'd pay at Panerra or Starbucks, but when you factor in the high shipping costs of food items, it's about right.

You're paying for the convenience of not having to go to a coffee shop yourself. I personally wouldn't pay to have scones shipped to my home. I'd rather bake them from scratch.

@wagirl  I used to fall for that free shipping BS on food items, not anymore.  Seems the only time I order is when there's a real free shipping day (not food items) and prices are the same as the day before.   Sometimes prices are inflated on a free shipping day.

@Ladybug724 ---really??!!--I think that is outrageous --I pay that amount  for sewer and trash pick -up bills monthly!! I can bake some fine scones myself and never buy from Starbucks as I don't drink coffee---that is $30 shy of $100!!!  For 12 scones!!!

Never ate a scone. If they are dry I wouldn't want one.

I'm sure DH could make them. I know his would be yummy.

I wouldn't pay $70 for them either.

Kind of like Swadley's BBQ now wants $27 for 1 lb sliced brisket. Can't even order a bbq brisket sandwich anymore. We refuse to pay that price. DH buys brisket flat for around $9 per lb at the meat market.
