I thought I would show you a picture of one of my Fiesta individual casserole dishes.  I think they make a great little apple pie.

I love those little ovals.  I have a few of them.  They are great for making individual apple crisps, too.

I'll add another vote for Fiestaware! Be sure to go to their website and sign up for their mailing list; they frequently have sales and free shipping promotions that make it a no-brainer to stock up on key pieces. Beyond the other great things already mentioned about the company, Fiesta also packages items very securely, so you never have to worry about receiving something broken, and their shipping times are quite short/speedy compared to many other online retailers.

When I want to bake in stoneware I use my Polish Stoneware almost exclusively. But I do have some 20 year old Corning Ware and a couple of pyrex glass bakeware. I've never had any crack in the oven.

Just make sure that there is some liquid or moisture in the pan. A dry pan will crack. Not the fault of the pan.

Corning Ware and Pyrex are the only brands I use for baking (both made by the same company). They've been around forever, they're made for oven baking and they're a decent price. Check out their website, and sign up for their sale emails - they have awesome prices for their bakeware and also for their Corelle line of dishes. Yes, I know that Corelle isn't probably fashionable, but they are lightweight, reasonably priced and do not chip.

My mother and I were both big fans of hand thrown pottery and we both had a couple of covered casserole dishes.  Neither of us ever had a moment's trouble with them.  They are original pieces of art and are pretty much indestructible.  I also had bakeware to match my Dansk dinnerware and it's still going strong after 30 years.

If you want great bakeware, buy great quality and forget the stuff you order on TV.

I am/was fortunate enough to own/inherit a lot of old Corning and Pyrex.

Besides Ebay, you might want to try Goodwill or other thrift stores for the "oldies but goodies".

After my first cracking/crazing with Temptations I never baked in them again😬😬😬.  They are beautiful for servingware.

I started replacing with Fiestaware and using my Pyrex & corningware pieces.

I love Fiestaware and I bought the pieces I would use.  Everything bakes great in them & clean up a snap!  slowly, i've added other pieces, ie, au gratin dishes, casserole dish.

My pyrex& corningware is still going strong after 30+ years.  Some pieces were my mom's.

what a good idea (and looks yummy!) for the augratin dishes.  I just bought 4 of them on sale at Kohls with my 30% off.

Thanks for sharing!

@loriqvc

thanks for sharing about signing up for Fiestaware website.   I've been building my Fiesta when I find them on sale,but, they never have the cute "seasonal" or selection of  pieces I see on their website.

I never thought about signing up for their sales -- one of those "duh" moments🙈😉
