@ECBG we like Brussels also. My husband does a recipe with balsamic vinegar.

I have only eaten okra in vegetable soup. Once when I was first married, I bought some in a can. It tasted awful and I couldn't eat it. I ready didn't know how to cook canned okra.
I never see it at the grocery store around here. I am a big fan of vegetables, so I would like to try it.
I will try to find some. Thanks for all the suggestions on ways to prepare it.

Not a fan....I did try roasting it and still not a fan. Have gotten it fried a few times in restaurants but it was so salty I could barely eat it.

I love roasted okra - it tastes almost like fried okra (without the extra calories)... So good...

One of the ways i like okra is in a Caribbean-style dish called Okra Rice. I learned how to make it from watching it prepared by You Tubers. My favorite version of this dish is made with bell peppers (other than green ones preferred), parsley, diced pumpkin or butternut squash, coconut milk, onion, spices including either saffron or turmeric, and of course okra and jasmine rice. This dish is a lovely colorful presentation to the eyes and delicious to the palate!

I always cut it in pieces before I roast. Quick and yummy.

I love okra. Fresh is hard to find by me though.

@Carmie Hi Carmie! You can roast whole or cut frozen okra, or any frozen veggie actually! Spray with olive oil just the same. About 10 minutes each side at 400 degrees.![]()
@Carmie , I forgot to mention that @Sooner and I made some kickin' fried cabbage the other day! The pic is under kitchen!![]()

@ECBG Thank you. As soon as I can find some, I am roasting it. I roast most of my veggies. We're having zucchini and onions tonight.
Here in PA, fresh Okra is a difficult veggie to find. I have bought frozen pieces before...for veggie soup. I can't wait to try it. I love vegetables..my favorite food group.

OMG! When I was growing up we would cut okra that was fresh off the stalk, cut crosswise into pieces then roll in cornmeal and saute it! Food of the gods!
My mother used to turn each piece individually, but finally gave up on that! LOL!!!
