I bought a corned beef today for St. Patrick's Day, but my company had to move the date to the weekend. So instead of cooking it on Tuesday, I will be making it on Saturday. Should I freeze the meat, or is it ok to leave it in the fig until Saturday?

Re: Refrigerator or Freezer?

Each bag of corned beef is stamped with a date, usually about2 months in advance- if it is a bagged one, I am sure you are safe, if you bought it at the butcher shop and it's wrapped in paper, then freeze it...

Re: Refrigerator or Freezer?

It's probably fine for quite awhile in the fridge. Smith's had them for sale for $2.99 so I bought a couple more. I tossed them all in the freezer. Tomorrow night I'll take them out to cook on St. Patricks.
