They really are great and I've heard all good about buying reconditioned machines from them.
I got my Vitamix 5200 directly from them. I ended up ordering it by phone because I had a couple of questions. Great company! ![]()

I've been debating on whether to get a Vitamix or not and might have seen my post. But if I do, I think going the reconditioned route and getting it directly from Vitamix sounds like a great idea. I think if you want to return it after using a few days, they will pay for the return shipping. I need to check this out further.
Seeing that you both have the 5200, guess that's the one you'd recommend. I know nothing about any of them but did watch when QVC had Vitamix on for their TSV a few days ago. I was so fasinated by what all they did with it. Have you had the same results such as making ice cream, soup, etc that Dan was showing? At least I think the vendor was named Dan Muller. ??
We have a Ninja, the inexpensive kind (about $40)and it looks like the container has some cracks going out from the center post. I know the Vitamix would do a lot more than this Ninja can but not sure how much I would use it. Guess that's why getting it from Vitamix, (if they do pay the return shipping) is appealing to me. Thanks for any info you can share. Others might be interested too.
Wonder how many are on the fence as I am about getting one?

GrannyDea, The one thing I learned is to make sure you get a variable speed one. You do have 30 days to try it and it does still come with the 5 year warrenty. You can research recipes. My husband wants to try making v8 juice. Lets us know what you decide and I will let you know what I think of my vitamix.

Thanks Sherbear1. After reading a little about them and the reviews, I had decided the variable speed would probably be the best way to go. My husband likes V8 so hope you can or your husband can find a recipe or make up your own that will work. I will look forward to reviews from you and will try to check back often. And I did find that Vitamix does pay the return shipping if you don't keep it. Can't beat that. Sure worth a try. Now to decide what to do. I have a Cuisinart that does a good job blending and the Ninja master prep so getting another "blender" is something I need to think about. Thanks again. See you soon, I hope.
Oh I found a website tonight called joyofblending.com and I'm going to check it out more thoroughly tomorrow or whenever I have time. I think I saw where there are recipes on that site. And talks about the Vitamix so maybe you'll want to check it out also.

With them being so well made, why not save and get a reconditioned one?

Aunt G. Thanks so much. I did go there just now and it looks good. Seems I can taste celery in the V8 juice and bet one could add it with no problems. The can might even say what all the veggies are in the can. I will have to check that out. And reconditioned sure sounds like the way to go from the Vitamix site and being assured that you can return it with no shipping charges is even better. At least, could try it for a few days and if I find I won't use it much, then return it. But bet it wouldn't get returned. LOL Blessings.

I have had that model that I bought reconditioned for about 5 years now. It has done everything I've asked it to and done it beautifully. I simply have no complaints whatsoever.

Another positive vote for a reconditioned 5200! I wouldn't have it any other way! Makes no sense buying new since Vitamix stands behind the reconditioned units with the same 5 year warranty QVC offers on a new unit.
