I wouldn't want it, it pushes the lid down into the liquid and pretty much would contaminate the contents if it wasn't washed properly. I saw the demo and thought, "GROSS".

Just watched the video! Oh, no....absolutely not! I'll stay with my handheld that takes the lid off at the seam. Nothing falls into the cans.
ETA that you place it on the can and press a button and the can opener goes around the can all on it's own. Completely hands free! The lid completely lifts off.

You might want to look for the ONE TOUCH Can Opener. I got one from here many years ago and it is still working as good as new. It is battery operated and opens cans like the handheld one you have that takes the lid off at the seam. I like it because you push the button and you can go stir whatever you are cooking while it is doing all the work, plus it opens them pretty fast. The batteries last quite a long time, although it will start getting persnickety when they get weak, so when it starts slowing down, it is probably time to replace them. I just did a quick check and they are still making them.

I agree, I wouldn't want that, either.

We ordered one when we saw it. We've tried other electric can openers with absolutely no success. We have hand-grasp problems with certain manual can openers. We were finally able to find one that cranks rather than twists to open cans; it works but it is cumbersome. We hope that this electric can opener will work.

We tried one. Could almost never get it to sit properly to open cans. When it did sit properly, it turned so slowly that it was painful to watch.

I am a gadget freak. I have bought so many different kinds of can openers until I bought the ones from QVC one is a bunny rabbit (not electric). I have very bad arthritis and this is great. Another one (but not as good) is a fish (also not electric).
Look into the bunny rabbit one. It is wonderful if you have arthritis and the lid does not come off until you pluck it off with the other end of the opener.
