Re: Recent Temp-tations Post

That's always a good idea, Kittymom!

There have been recalls on other Chinese-made enameled cast iron for the same exact reason. This is why I always recommend AGAINST purchasing Chinese-made enameled cast iron. It's kind of the same as what happens to poorly-made Chinese stoneware like TT products. Scary!

I agree! If TT is proven to be dangerous, it needs to be taken off the market but not if it is just because it is made in china and ones that enjoy Fiesta or another brand of ceramic ware but because of proven facts! Thanks for providing this!

Maybe the problems with Temptations need to be reported to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for investigation. There is a link on another thread regarding problems with Martha Stewart's products at Macy's...it is a voluntary recall of some of her cookware due to the "possibility" of injury to the consumer. This is part of the story:

"WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product:Martha Stewart Collection™ Enamel Cast Iron Casseroles

Units:About 960,000

Importer:Macy's Merchandising Group, New York, N.Y.

Hazard:The enamel coating on the cast iron casseroles can crack or break during use. This can cause the enamel to crack and fly off as a projectile, posing a risk of laceration or burn hazard to the user or bystanders.

Incidents/Injuries:Macy's has received two reports of the enamel cracking and flying off of the casseroles during use. No injuries have been reported."

Macy's has only received TWO REPORTS, but this product has been recalled. Something to think about in view of the numerous reports of cracking and breaking with Temptations pieces which could possibly cause injury.

Great point kittymomNC!

Macy's obviously is a reputable store, along with Martha Stewart. I'm sure she doesn't want her good name on anything defective.

I wish we could saw the same about Tara!

Kelly - There were TWO reported cases of problems with Martha Stewart enamelware...and it's being recalled.

Too bad Tara isn't as diligent about protecting her reputation.

There are DOZENS of reported problems on these boards alone re: TT.

I am not the only person who has posted that Lidia's stoneware is very good - and that is also made in China.

TT is the problem.

And there also someone on the boards stating that these same pans are still being sold??? And as I stated before..if TT is proven unsafe then by all means it should be taken off the market.

GEEZzzz terrier, even when we agree you still want to argue???? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Wow, did I just have a revelation! I googled to see what I could find about breakage of TT products, and one of the places I was led to was a QVC forum from 2011 where a particular poster was accusing people of making FALSE statements about problems with this product, doubting first time posters who had a complaint, and talking about people who keep the "hate" going...so this has been going on for at least THREE YEARS, long before I ever started posting on the forums. I hope that QVC investigation goes back far enough......{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Great post kittymomNC, Maybe if enough unhappy consumers call and report their issues and concerns, something positive may come from it. Consumers cannot always count on the integrity of the maker of a product. Integrity is a rare attribute in this world. It seems to be more about the almighty dollar. Hopefully it will not take someone getting terribly injured for someone to wake up.

QVC, I believe is really looking into one particular poster who is involved in getting peoples negative reviews deleted. I gave corp. her nick name and they are looking into why those who monitor these forums keep deleted posts that are NOT in violation of Community Standards. According to QVC corp posters are allowed to post reviews and discuss products
without having posts deleted because a particular poster is policing the forum. When a person hits the delete button the nick of that person comes up on the monitors end so there is a record of how many times she has hit the button. In the meantime I put her on IGNORE.

This is nothing new, sorry to inform you! lol..you must have never read the Rules & Regulations on QVC, reqarding the Forums so don't kid yourself or try to make others think you have done something "out of the ordinary". Why do you think other posters have gotten "banned" for a certain amount of time..had to get another nick, etc...please. YOU can THINK anything you want but what the truth is can be entirely different! I am sure the Q (corporate) has so much more to do than to "follow" one person here on these forums...lol. I am sure they got a laugh from your call if there ever was a call. You are not the first and won't be the last to do this sort of thing...FYI.

This is the first thread in a LONG time that has been allowed to stay up and keep some of the posts which have negative comments about Temptations from being deleted. The people being talked about are some who consistently have tried to post their experiences and failed over and over in the past because someone kept getting them deleted, so they just keep trying. I was one of them, but it seemed to be a total waste of time.

We have been zeroed in on for some unknown reason. Our posts have been truthful and detailed in what happened to us - they were not made by "people who never even bought Temptations" as insinuated time and again, and they are not "untruthful", also insinuated and said outright time and again. Others post their negative experiences, but their posts don't get deleted. None of these posters come here just to "whine and complain", nor because we have "emotional attachments" to Temptations- how silly! They and I only wanted to get out a message about OUR true experiences, which IS ALLOWED on these forums, and I am extremely surprised that these posts have been allowed to stay here this time.

Maybe the PTB at QVC and/or the moderators have finally figured out what is happening here. If anyone at Corporate or the moderators go back and read all the current and prior Temptations threads, it will be revealed very emphatically what has happened, because apparently, even the threads that have been deleted are still accessible to them. That will be the eye-opening moment. These threads are dominated by one poster.

I do LOVE a lot of the Temptations patterns, including the limited edition set that I first posted about here. And I love the variety of pieces offered. However, I can't use them because of the cracking/crazing that I personally experienced on several pieces...I was even tempted to buy the new Fallfetti cupcake type baker the other night because it was so cute, and I love the pieces with the cherries motif. But I cannot justify putting money into pieces that I cannot use in the oven, but only as display, as "suggested" many times by one poster. Maybe I will buy some bowls or something at some point because I like some of the patterns and colors, and see what happens with those. But never another baker.

I think that QVC and the board monitors are figuring out what is going on. When I spoke to corporate last week they assured me that they would contact the people that monitor the forums and review community standards and determined why so many posts are being deleted that not in violation of community standards. They (the forums monitors) also keep track of posters that constantly report others posts. They were very helpful and made it clear that posters should be able to talk about their experience with products without their posts being deleted unless they are violating C.S. .
