Re: Questions About Honey Baked Ham

I went to Honey Baked once years ago with a reservation.  We were lucky to get one but many people around me didn't get theirs and they claimed to have reserved one.  Their system seemed really sloppy, moved away and haven't had a chance to try it lately.

@red&curly That is exactly what I was trying to find out.  I have all sorts of answers from a lot of sources, here and otherwise.

Thanks for the info and the reocmmendations!  Now you can't get a lot of sound information because everyone is scared of litigation--at least the manufacturers are.

People and online would say 3 days and I'm thinking it's a HAM!  I'm just wanting a week before I eat it then a reasonable time (maybe 4 days) before we shrink wrap it.

I have high hopes for this!  LOL!!!!

Re: Questions About Honey Baked Ham

I'm on the mailing list for Todd Wilbur's Top Secret Recipes,  in which he does copycat recipes for foods and restaurant dishes. Today's had a clone for HoneyBaked Ham, turning a supermarket ham into a dupe. Todd describes watching the process of glazing the hams at a HoneyBaked Ham store. It involves a butane torch, and so does his dupe. You should be able to find it with Google.

We get HoneyBaked ham (and turkey) for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The kids love the vanilla rum cakes. I would certianly recommend their ham and it lasts for a pretty decent amount of time.

@morganjen I saw those!  I did buy a coffee cake!  I went to an express store, was the only one there, and the lady looked at the cooler of hams to get one that had the longest sell by date!

The coffee cake was good, and can't wait for the ham!

@red&curly How sweet of you to ask!  Yes I did!  Made the treck into Oklahoma City and on the way to get a pickup we stopped by one of the express stores and there wasn't anyone in the store--the lady looked at all the hams and got the one with the freshest date and we were happy campers!

I also got a coffee cake and it is very good!

We haven't opened the ham yet, but will in a couple of days I think, and have ham sandwiches Christmas Eve!

I had called the main store about a curbside pickup and the lady said oh sure just come in.  I said I'll call you and let you know when we'll be there and pay over the phone.  Well, Friday morning they weren't answering so I said, ok we'll go by the express store and if it isn't too crowded I'll go in.  So lucky us--somebody came in just before I left but the store was empty except for the 2 ladies working there.

I had answers all over the place about the dates--online, from the stores, from people at the customer service number, people here!  That is not set in stone I will say!  Woman Happy

Re: Questions About Honey Baked Ham

@red&curly Thanks!  These little shops here are just open during the holidays.  So they don't have an eating area!  I haven't been in the main store for a long time.

Enjoy your holiday as well and we'll look forward to 2021.

AND remember what the definition of eternity is:

Two people and a ham!  Woman Very Happy
