Re: Question about Toaster Oven

Yes, the bread goes directly on the rack.  In my Breville, I lined the bottom with aluminum foil.  Clean up is a breeze when necessary.

Re: Question about Toaster Oven

Try more than toast!  I bought a mid-sized Hamilton Beach oven after my microwave and small toaster oven died, and honest to God, it is the best oven I have ever owned.  I do not even want to bother with a microwave or a large oven ever again.  The only downside is trying to find bakeware that will fit.

@peachesncream

Yes, the bread or bagel goes directly on the rack on the toast setting, and just experiment what lightness or darkness setting you prefer. The Breville has instruction on the glass front where the rack placement should be (three different positions) for what your cooking. For toast, bagels, cookies, pizza they want it on the middle or center position, broil is the only one for the top position, and placement of rack on the bottom is for roasting, baking, reheating, warm etc.

No guessing, it's right there to guide you.

Emptying the crumb tray as easy as any toaster crumb tray, no big deal. HTH

Re: Question about Toaster Oven

I have the Breville and in  my directions it stated NOT to cover the bottom with foil, so I don't. Clean up is still a breeze.

Re: Question about Toaster Oven

I have used a black and decker under cabinet mount toaster oven for years.  They don't make them anymore and I thought I would have to do without when my last one died. (I've had three)  Then I came across a brand new one at Goodwill for $ 7.00.  It is still going strong.

I still have a Welbilt countertop oven that I bought from QVC at least 20 years ago.  I bake in it a lot during the summer to avoid heating the house with the big oven. I love that thing.
