Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

Thank you everyone for all the input! I love the look of this doodle Doo and enjoy red in the kitchen.  The info about bringing it to room temperature and putting it in the oven as it heats up is very helpful.
I'm not the best cook, but I am currently laid off/anticipating possible retirement, so I'm trying to use some of this time and new cookware to improve my skills. Smiley Happy

Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

Sadly, I bought a large set years ago...every piece has crazed. Some were never put in the oven....just used for cold salads, ect. The 13x9 was in the oven with a casserole in it....heard this cracking sound....took the casserole out of the oven and it had cracked across the entire bottom.
Because of that, I consider them a safety hazard and have not used them since.

Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

I used to order a lot of temptation cookware. Every piece has eventually cracked which I've had to throw away. I'm still using my old Corning ware without a single problem. I look for Corning ware in antique shops because I'm done buying the junk from China.

@grandma petes @Blueridge Liz

I always hold my breath when Tara walks across the QVC floor between the oven and the display table, holding a 9X13 full of boiling  hot  lasagna...

If that thing ever cracked in half, she'd be spending the afternoon in the burn unit.

Too risky.

Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

Again thank you all for the input. Even though I love the look of these, I'm not sure I want to keep them just as serving dishes and I can't afford to waste money on cookware that may likely crack. Still deciding....

Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

@Cathyshopper - I hope your set serves you well! I've had many sets in many designs for many years, and I've never experienced a single crack or problem and have no crazing at all. As has been noted earlier, you have to take care of any stoneware to avoid extremes in temperatures, and I never put stoneware pieces from any brand in the dishwasher to make sure to avoid water getting into any minute holes or unfinished areas. Fortunately, as advertised, glazed stoneware is essentially nonstick and really easy to clean. I love its beauty, durability, and reliability. Good luck!

Re: Quality of Temptations cookwareh

I have had Polish Stonewaer for many years and never a single problem. The same for Corningware. I never put stoneware in the dishwasher or freezer. I always put in a cold over and preheat. Temptation stoneware is not the same quality as Polish Stoneware or Corning.

Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

I am a huge fan of Temptations and have acquired many sets and individual pieces over the years; some with matching mitts, dish towels etc...  The holiday collections are my favorite. A few pieces had crazing over time and were promptly discarded.😊 My experiences are so much more positive than negative, so my advice is, take a chance.😉

Re: Quality of Temptations cookware

I use Temp-tations in my oven on a regular basis and have for 10 years.  I've only ever had 2 pieces crack, both times I did something the specifically say not to do.  My mother has been using it longer than I have and has never lost a piece.

Do not have a lot of the issues discussed here and have been buying for years.  I use them as decor not as functional and receive compliments often. I enjoy surrounding myself with lovely things and collect all patterns in taupe at present
