I am looking for a good quality knife set.  After years of cheapo knives,  we are ready to dive into quality.  Any suggestions?  TIA

We;ve had LamsonSharp knives for years.  They are expensive, but they're excellent and they're made in the USA.  They are the oldest cutlery company in the US.

That;s my job for this year too .... I am going to start with a boning knife ....

I bone a lot of chicken .... then I like a good .. short pearing knife ....

serrated of course ....and of course I will have to hide them .. not keep

them in the drawer for when " someone " wants to cut through plastic !!!

Well you get what you pay for. I love my Wursthop knives. Have had them for over 20 years.

Goodness, I never said we had dollar store brand.  Our sets have done us well, just looking for a great upgrade.  Thanks for the suggestion, I will check them out.

I have Shun and really like them, had them for years.  You really only need 3 knives and I got some last year for a gift I think a set is about $600 with the honer.  I do have less expensive bread knife too.

@Warrior2022  another vote for Cutco.  My mother has had her set since she was married 60 years ago, and has only needed to have them sharped on a few occasions.

USA made and they sharpen for free (if I can remember).  My sister and I also have a set.

Funny story - my son found a big Cutco knife in his front yard.  The knife costs about $160....and all I could think of was that someone was chasing their cheating spouse down the street with that knife, yikes!

Check out their website, I know they occasionally have discounts at local fairs and if you buy sets.

They are worth the cost.

......You look like I need a drink.....

What 3 do you recommend?  I'm fine with just a chefs knife and paring knife.  It's for DH's birthday and he is the real cook that suggested it and his birthday is coming up.  Thanks!

Basically large, middle, and small.  Just for me I like a pretty short small, a thinish middle, and a large that isn’t too curved, more of a cleaver.  It is pretty personal.  If he is a little fussy, I wonder if a gift certificate would be good?
