Interesting that your DH found not only one or two but a few bones in his sandwich. I definitely would have informed my waiter. Like everyone here, I've never experienced this either.

Anyway my hubby & I enjoy pulled pork and honestly, I'll use many cuts of pork to turn into pulled pork. I ALWAYS pull it/fork it apart and return it to the crock pot. I'll use pork tenderloins (plain or already marinated), I'll use BONELESS country style ribs, I'll also use lesser expensive roasts, boneless if I can get a good price.

For liquid I'll mix an 8oz can of tomato sauce, add to it Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce (a bit diluted) in any flavor, better still a mix of regular & honey chipotle. I may chop up some onions to put in. The rest will be cracked pepper, a tad of salt, and whatever spices I feel like at the time.

Close to the end I'll give a stir to see if it needs anymore liquid, add if need be (a bit more Swt Baby Ray's mix w/a little water, stir, add). OF course fork apart for sandwiches. Serve with coleslaw. ENJOY!

By any chance did they have BBQ chicken sandwich on the menu and MAYBE they served him the chicken by mistake? When I make pulled chicken the breast white meat has bones and you need to be very careful to remove them. Just a thought. To me the pork and chicken can taste the same.

I had my butcher cut a whole Boston Butt into Country Ribs. I cooked some ribs today and there were some big pieces of bone, that I pulled out after cooking the ribs.

Barbara, I used to make a recipe that cooked cubed country ribs in a 16 ounce bottle of Coke. Add some scallions and fresh ginger, serve over rice.

I think I got it from Bon Appetit. It was SO good!

The closest I have ever got to making pulled pork is to put a pork tenderloin in the crock pot and cover it with BBQ sauce. No bone + it is very tender and tasty.

Thank you, everyone, for your replies. Racalamb2, yes, they do serve BBQ chicken, too. I believe his friend had the chicken, but he didn't find any bones. I may pop in there next week and if there are no customers, I may mention it to the staff. The restaurant is just starting out and I'm sure they would want feedback. I'm not really into BBQ or I could order a pulled pork sandwich and check for myself.
