I had one of the old style. I used it all the time. If you have room I would get the larger one. It's like anything learn to use it when you get it home.

Luv my pressure cooker ! I have an older jiggly top one though and have been on the fence about the newer electric one. The other day my husband and I were wondering what to eat for dinner since we hadn't prepared anything ahead of time and I remembered seeing on one of the shows that you can use frozen meat in the pressure cooker, so I decided to try it. We used frozen ribs and they came out really great !!! We put just some water, barbecue sauce and 3-4 lbs of the ribs and let it go for about 30 minutes. Some of the best we've tasted. We plan to do it again.

I have had several over the years. What do you think you want to make the most? Personally, I would get a large one. I would use a rice cooker or wonder pot instead of the small size.

You can not go wrong by getting the larger size. I have had mine for three years and love it. It can do anything a crock pot can do only faster.

Hi!  I have the CE 8 quart and I LOVE it!!  Lock the lid, set the timer and you never even know it's on.  No noise at all.  Definitely go with the largest one.  You can always make a small amount in the large cooker.  Good luck!

Well, you can be like me and sit on the fence, then finally break down and wish you'd got it sooner. They make some delicious meals. And I agree with others regarding size...you can always just use less for smaller meals. It's just the 2 of us now and the 6qt is perfect. Good luck!

Nicksmom...

Boy, had you lived by me, I would have given you one.

I just gave my "Big Cooks Essential Pressure Cooker" to my sister-in-law.  I used it like -2- times...

The Big one is HUGE...

I was like you...Oh, I never had one...I will use this all the time...  QVC suckered me in too.  I could have done without this purchase.

I know alot of people do like them here.  I guess just asks yourself..."Do I really need it"?  "Or do you just want it"?

I'm a small appliance junkie and my pressure cookers are my favorites.  I used a stove top version for 50 years and still have it.  Followed instruction and never had the slightest problem.  Love my Cooks Essentials model that can sear meat and also be used as a slow cooker.  Cooked for family of 3 with my stovetop 4 qt and now cook for 1 with a 6 qt, so I'll have leftovers.  I wouldn't want the 8 qt unless I had a large family as it takes up too much room.  You can cook enough for 2 meals for 2-3 people in the 6 qt.

I'd say run, don't walk, and buy yourself a PC ASAP.  There are by the way, thousands of recipes online and most are better than the cookbooks I've bought.
