We recycle - never burn - so very toxic!
Right now, though, our 13 month old granddaugher gets a kick out of playing with plastic bowls and containers, so we're keeping everything around for a while.
I do miss the quality of the Tupperware I used to have. It just got used to death. When I purchase new, I get the ones that are glass bottoms with snap on lids. Love them!

I don't really trust plastic containers. I do have large ones I keep sugar and flour in, but I never buy the smaller pieces.
I'd rather store food in glass bowls and the like.

Even if they say you can heat up foods in plastic containers, I don't. I don't want them stained up. Went to my mom's and hubby said he couldn't get the stain out of a plastic container. I told him to put the food in a glass dish and heat it up, DON'T PUT PLASTIC IN THE MICROWAVE TO HEAT UP FOOD.

I really like Lock N Lock, but don't heat food in them. Never was much of a Tupperware fan, but had to buy a few items since a friend always had parties.

I wish they would stop telling people to put their Lock & Lock, etc, in the microwave. Sure you can do that (if you are so inclined), but it will break down at some point and then people complain because the chuckleheads on QVC tell them that it's 'microwave safe'.
L&L makes a nice line of glassware that is all Borosilicate glass. I have several of those and really like them.
I've tried the Snapware and SnapLock ones and neither are anywhere near as good as Lock & Lock, so if somebody is tossing their stuff, I'd keep the good stuff first until you get the Snapware and see that it is inferior. I tried them all, just to be sure, and they were not airtight OR liquid tight.
