While I don't wish her ill. She has enough money to last more than her lifetime. I'd like to see her just retire. Its not that I don't forgive, I know we are all human but this feels like greed for money at all costs.

She doesn't have cookware any more. The company dropped her.
She has a guy from my area advising her on products (he used to run TOPS Supermarkets) - she is concentrating on branded foods.

Since these threads keep showing up, I want to repeat what I wrote before.
It's been a long time since I weighed in on this issue. I'm a native of the southeastern USA. When Paula Deen first came on my radar, I genuinely wanted to like her so it took a while before I formed an opinion.
Over time, I had a problem with some of the things others have said:
Her recipes seemed like poorly-edited copies from local, community cookbooks and were cloyed with fat and sugar; her "sweet southern lady" act was not the same as the persona known by friends of mine who live in the same geographic locale (an uncomfortable issue for companies associated with her, after the raunchy persona became public); hiding her diabetes for so long while promoting unhealthy foods, and then announcing it only when she could make money representing a pharmaceutical company, was deceitful; the ra cist comments (and attitude) and workplace problems were more than upsetting (not just “something she said a long time ago, it was a long-term pattern).
And every time she spoke about the problems it seemed clear (imo) that she didn't seem to understand what was wrong (that's disturbing), and the apology rang hollow.
I’m weary of people being called “haters,” or the sarcastic remarks about so-called “perfect people,” when they simply don’t support her. I think that’s unfair, and it feels like an attempt to stifle our view, to silence our opinion. As has been said before, it says more about those who are name calling and very little about those they try to demean.
I tried very hard to believe each apology, but in the end I feel she was merely sorry the "jig was up." The curtain was drawn back, the Wizard was exposed as a sham, and apologies were given as damage control.
I don't wish her harm. I simply will not be supporting her endeavors. People can gain genuine insight and undergo genuine personal transformation... but, at this point, in my opinion this isn't the case with Deen.

Who eats politics if you like her recipes cook them if NOT do not cook . Why judge her over and over? Give it a rest really old news. Just do not watch ,cook or buy her stuff . You have a right to your option, where to spend your money and time , as does everyone else. Have a good day!

Paula Deen is a crude woman who has become a caricature of her former self and phony to the core. I can't imagine how anyone can watch her or have interest in her cheap products. She is a cook, not a chef; many of her "recipes" call for canned soup, boxed cake mixes, and other processed food. Her time has come and gone.
Go away, Paula .. just go away.

"Her recipes seemed like poorly-edited copies from local, community cookbooks"
I almost included this very thought in my earlier post about her recipes. That's exactly what they remind me of. Now, I have a bunch of community cookbooks, and I think they're fun to thumb through. But yes, this type of cooking does tend to be geared less toward fresh, bright flavors and more toward too much sugar, too much fat, and too much of a reliance on processed foods like Cream of Whatever soups.
Excellent post all around, dooBdoo. ![]()

Politics? I don't think some people's objections are to her politics. In fact, I don't even know or care about her political points of view.
And I would guess that those who do object will not watch, cook, or buy her stuff. But this is a message board, and when someone starts a thread about a controversial person, it's naive to think that no one will voice their opinions -- whatever they may be.

LOL, no kidding. When a public figure makes a fool of themselves (IMO) what do people expect? You know I used to love Mel Gibson until his drunken racist rant. Now he just disgusts me.
