Personally, I don't think David can cook. I didn't see him when he first took over. Anyway, at this point with the Internet and other places to shop, QVC has to use the TV time to sell, not cook.

When Bob Bowersox was let go and David took over the show David would disappear for periods of time. On a few occasions he would mention how he had learned things in the cooking classes QVC was sending him to. Can he cook? Probably, but he doesn't cook on his own show for a reason. Overall it says that QVC is a shopping channel and his show is not a cooking show.

This is a SHOPPING channel not the food network. If you want to see cooking you should go there. QVC is here to SELL items and make money only. QVC is just a big department store. When you go to Macys do you expect them to be demoing the items?

Years ago when they did more cooking on QVC it was more enjoyable and a better way to show the products.  I miss that.    I think it helped to make sales too.     Imagine now if they showed the air fryer, but never showed any food in it.  I know I wouldn't have bought one.
