I like to use organic cold-pressed extra virgin.

Although, some people seem to be under the misguided impression that olive oil is "evil", because it's "full of fat". {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Never mind the fact that olive oil has the good fat.

I actually prefer Spanish olive oil to the Italian brands. Goya is the one most readily available in supermarkets and my go-to brand when the special gift of Portuguese olive oil from my friend is all gone!

My parents gift me olive oil from Theo's Global Gardens.

Not imported, grown in California. First cold pressed. Lower acidity (.03%) than most EVOO.

I use only organic olive oil and olives.

When I see local festivals I buy it there. There is a Greek festival in my daughter's neighborhood each year and I love the different kinds they have…and they explain their uses and you can taste them.

I just read an article that said NOW Olive oil isn't the BEST for you. Suddenly Canola oil is. Wait awhile and it will be something else. That's why I don't pay attention to what anyone says, I do what's best for me.

Sorry, I just had to tell someone that. Just read it this morning.

Canada oil. Trademark. I heard that it isn't good for you. But who knows. annabellethecat is right….it changes every day.

Something odd too is that some times I read that potatoes are great for you and then I hear that they are bad for you. They taste good anyway you cook them. I won't give them up. Same thing with corn.

Pompeian extra virgin, voted # 1 by Consumers Reports. I believe they rated Carapelli (not sure I spelled it correctly) as #2.

For salads it should be extra virgin ( cold pressed) oil, whatever brand you can get and afford. I use Colavita, Betolli, Costco organic. But cooking I do on regular light olive oil by Bertolli that I buy at Costco. Whatever the studies and articles are, the best oil is an olive oil!!! Enjoy

I attended a full day seminar last year with Curtis Cord of the Olive Oil Times. He runs the New York International Olive Oil competition. We learned a lot and tasted about 20 olive oils. We learned about how much mediocre and poor quality oils are on the market. He has no love for Colivita or California Olive Ranch. A really great EV olive oil will have a strong grassy flavor and make you cough a little. There really is a huge flavor difference.

The 2015 competition is in a couple of weeks, but here are winners from last year:
