If you bake a whole chicken in it does it brown the skin without browning first?

Re: Question about Ninja 4 in1

It does brown, but not like in an oven. You cook it in the Ninja, then brown it in the oven afterwards.

Re: Question about Ninja 4 in1

I made a whole chicken in mine. Used stove top setting first to brown the chicken (turning it).. then changed to steam roast to cook it.. never used my regular oven.

My problem with the Ninja is that the lid is so flat - I cannot fit a large bird or roast.

Re: Question about Ninja 4 in1

I used the stovetop setting to sear my chicken, switched to oven setting to bake, then changed back to stovetop setting for additional browning. The lemon chicken recipe in the recipe book says to sear 5-7 minutes on each side, which is what did, plus baking for 1 1/4 hour. The chicken was moist and delicious.
