This recall is a me/ss! We should just get a refund or credit via QVC site! I still can figure how to upload photos back paid of gloves is at my nieces. Gonna spend the holiday attempting to do this. I feel sorry for the elderly or people with computer issues who find this difficult, including myself!

Re: OVEN GLOVE RECALL

[ Edited ]

@Laura14

Many people do not use their phones that way.  I don't.

I also don't have a tablet and would never attempt to do all this on my Kindle.

We can't all afford Ipads.  The cost makes it a luxury item for many of us.

You are making the assumption that the 'average' QVC customer is tech savvy.  By reading these boards, I tend to think not.  How many say they don't even have a printer??

Not every one has embraced all the new technology available to us.

The whole procedure is designed with the anticipation that many will not bother when they see all the hoops we have to jump through.

@RespectLife Almost every person I know has a smart phone of some kind even if you have a tracfone which I do.

If you don't have a cell phone with camera capabilities you are well behind the times as is the person who chooses to ride to the market in a horse and buggy. Doable yes, but it'll take a while and you can't complain if that's your choice not to upgrade your skills and experience.

Both a smart phone and/or a cheap tablet can be had for about $30-$50 from Walmart and/or Amazon. Neither is a luxury item these days. They are certainly less expensive than any computer.

And not that it's anyone's business, but my Ipad was a Christmas gift bought many years ago. It's version 6. I think they are up to version 11 these days.

Life can be tough, but in this recall request, it's only as tough as you choose to make it.

Worst case scenario, ask someone to help you if you don't have a current device. Most people will be happy to oblige. Smiley Happy

@Laura14

You may be misunderstanding....Possibly did Not read my posts thoroughly.

I do have a smart phone.

I DO know how to take pictures, upload, convert etc.

I DID accomplish the task.

I do Not need any help, thank you.

However, the majority of my family that are of the QVC  shopping age, do not know how to do all that.

I have 4 QVC friends that said forget it, not doing all that.....

A great many QVC customers of the 'Age of Possibility' will not find it easy to do at all.

It is a MULTI step process to get this done.

My point is:

QVC knows who purchased.  A simpler process would have been MUCH more customer friendly.

Again, kudos to you that you didn't find it difficult but Pls. be more considerate to those who do not have tech abilities.

RIDICULOUS!!!  SURELY THEY WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN NOT GIVING CUSTOMERS WITH PROVEN ORDERS ON LINE A REFUND.

LAST OF MY PURCHASES FROM QVC.  THEIR PRODUCTS ARE NO

BARGAIN ANYWAY!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM A NO-MORE PURCHASING CUSTOMER.

No one should have to jump through hoops to get a refund that they are entitled to.

And no, not everyone is computer savvy and able to do what is being asked of them. And, more importantly they should not be shamed by others.

Most recalls for products are a pain. They typically want you to disable the product in some manner and provide loads of proof that you bought it. Anything electronic they typically want you to cut off the cord and send it back, if not have you return the whole product. They almost never make it easy to comply with a recall.

Amazon recalled a power bank a few years back and made it very easy. They just credited my account for it right away and even sent the prepaid box to ship it back.

I have two sets of the Temptations gloves, and won't bother with the recall. The gloves have never given me a problem, and the writing on the gloves to apply for the refund ruins the gloves. That is, of course, the point.

The bigger issue for me is the most recent set of four glasses that were sold with the Thanks and giving pattern. Two of these have broken in my hands while washing them.

They are not dishwasher friendly. I have now thrown the other two glasses away. These glasses are dangerous.

A Temptations "success story" : I do not have the capacity to take a picture of the dangerous gloves. After contacting Temptations with no resolution (see previous post), I contacted  a QVC CS rep and, later, the Social Team (multiple times) and was able to return the dangerous unused gloves, in the usual way that return items are handled, and get a refund! All this for a relatively inexpensive item.

I really appreciate the Social  Team but certainly would never purchase from Temptations again. With the dangerous glove issue and all of the reports of faulty dangerous bakeware, one wonders how Temptations stays in business and why  QVC continues to carry their dangerous products. Something is seriously awry here. I persisted based on the principle that a business should respect its customers and not make them jump through hoops for what should be an ordinary  business transaction, one that is respectful of its customers and maintaining the business and trust of those customers
