My 1st choice is Tide Mountain Spring. But I'm on an Aldi's budget.

@x Hedge I love Aldi's but I was not thrilled with Tandil.  It worked in terms of taking care of it's business but there was virtually no nice, fresh scent an hour after I pulled my clothes out of the dryer (I guess I don't recommend their dryer sheets either).  I don't want an overwhelming amount of fragrance but I love the smell of pulling a freshly laundered shirt over my head . . . Re: Non-food items on the Aldi's grocery list

I have used there toilet paper, foil, trash bags, freezer/storage bags & have liked what I bought. I have not bought the laundry soap but I may just have to try it. I have also bought several Crofton bakeware pieces & silicone lids & some other things all I have been happy with.

Re: Non-food items on the Aldi's grocery list

I use their facial tissue , tp, paper towel when I have forgotten to buy elsewhere , kitchen trash size liners (really a good buy for 80 ). I prefer the individual sized paper towel and have not seen any at the Aldi's I shop at. I tried the Tandil dryer sheets that are supposed to be 'non fragranced' but noticed a fragrance.

I have found many bargains of quaility in their gadget aisle. Great small bundt cake pan, infusion tumbler, scale, etc.

@CelticCrafter, I use it for making 'meat flavored water' for the cats everyday. No, not the smaller cans, but the 5.5oz tins in paté turkey and paté salmon.

I've been making this concoction daily for more than10 years and I tried every brand of paté canned cat food out there. You'd be amazed at how much bits of bone, gristle, and other indigestible bits are in most brands. The Aldi's is consistantly the 'cleanest' in this regard, and so a few years ago I switched to using Aldi's exclusively.

Any new food can upset your pet's tummy. New foods should be introduced in small amounts over a series of days so their digestive system has an opportunity to adjust to any new enzymes needed.

@momtochloe, thanks! That says it all.
I love the Tide Mountain Spring because of the fresh and lasting sent. I can wash linens and take them iff the shelf a season later and they still smell fresh. I was wondering if Aldi's laundry detergents had anything comparable. Sounds like they don't.

Oh @x Hedge thanks for the heads up on that Tide Mountain Spring.  I'm going to have to start stalking the weekly ads for it and snag a bottle when it goes on sale . . . thanks again!

Re: Non-food items on the Aldi's grocery list

I use/buy regularly:

TP

TIssue

everyday napkins

concentrated bleach

plastic wrap

Foil

Zipper bags

Sponges with scubbee sides ( I cut them in half -that way I always have a fresher one!)

the 14# clumping cat litter-the price can NOT be beat and it works.

The turkey and giblets cat food. I buy Friskies canned for the most part, but I tried that turkey and they love it !( On occasion only).

The CHEAPEST "people tuna" for my cats-an occasional treat-to me it smells like cut up rubber boots and it's REALLY watery ( they like that!!!!) I wouldn't eat it!!!

Paper towels

Bottled water

I bought a red enamled cast iron braiser with  lid for a fraction of the big name cast iron-works beautifully..

Christmas LED lights.

I always look at the non-food stuff...

When my Mom was alive, I bought a little Braun "sound bar" type thing for her TeeVee because she couldn't hear that well.....I figured I'd try it....That little CHEAP ( about 20.00 if I recall) sounded BETTER than my Bose radio that I have on my TeeVee. It had no complicated controls or a separate remote so she could easily use it with her TV remote, which was important. II was shocked at the sound quality from that little @6" speaker!!!)

Things I've tried and "not again thank you"..both non-and food items:

Dish liquid

laundry liquid

red cabbage

canned soup -BLECHHHHH!!!! ( that was the worst I think!!!!)

I don't buy thier shrink wrapped red meats...I'm sure they're ok, but they don't look appealing to me. All the other meats do however.....

I LOVE Aldi!!! It's my first place store, but of course I still have to go to Walmart and our local Tops for some other items that Aldi doesn't carry....but I try to buy as much as I can there.

I USED to have my nose up in the air about Aldi. Boy was I a dope!!!!

I really like the Tandil laundry detergent in the green bottle.  To me it smells very similar to Gain, which I love, but Gain is expensive.  Tandil is much more affordable.  I also use the Tandil Linen scent dryer sheets and like them very much.

Re: Non-food items on the Aldi's grocery list

Wow, nice list @Othereeeen. The item that caught my eye was concentrated bleach. Bleach has been on my shopping list for a couple of months and I never thought to look at the Aldi's bleach. Duh! Just a week or so ago I paid top dollar at a mega grocery store for a gallon of Clorox. I feel like such a dummy!

You've all convinced me. I'm definitely going to start buying bathroom & kitchen paper goods there.
I love the little story about the sound bar.

I don't buy any of their regular small cans of soup but I love the chefs cupboard roasted red pepper and tomato soup that comes out seasonally. It's available right now. After I've fully heated my bowl of soup I add a little sprinkle of Frank's Red Hot Chili lime sauce, a little fresh basil, and a drizzle of good olive oil on top. Sour cream blop on top is optional.
Also buy the Deutsche Küche canned split pea, bean, and I think lentil soups.

Re: Non-food items on the Aldi's grocery list

I noticed they had Tandil in different colored bottles. I appreciate your recommendation on the green bottle @globegrl.
