It took me a long time to save for mine. I watched Youtube videos, QVC demos & read everything I could about the VM. I ended up buying the 7500 model with 2 containers from a
show. Best money I ever spent! I have sold many to family & friends who can't believe how awesome this machine is!

Walk into Target or Walmart and look at the Ninja and you'll see why the Ninja is much cheaper.

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

It's true. I have both. Just get the Vitamix. I had to upgrade when I started making green smoothies because my smoothies were super chunky. The Vitamix makes great soup because the powerful motor heats and cooks things. Like someone else mentioned you need a juicer to juice and remove pulp but the Vitamix makes great smoothies. It pulverizes and whips everything smooth like carrots, celery with the strings, chia seeds, all seeds and nuts, kale, broccoli. The Ninja can't do it. The Ninja makes a perfectly fine milkshake, iced latte or fruit drink but any veggies or soups need a Vitamix. I can throw a chuck of ginger in mine and put it just on slow pulse and it a few seconds it minces it. I love that. It's so hard to chop ginger. But of course if you put it in a smoothie it gets pulverized smooth. I didn't do this myself but I know you can save money buying a refurbished model from Vitamix directly.

You are comparing apples to oranges. No comparison. The Vitamix is in a class by itself!

I have to agree. This review says it all - compare Ninja and Vitamix

Save up for a Vitamix and get a refurnished one - the difference in cost will be so worth it.

Clem- I realized I never use my Ninja because I am afraid to clean it for the same reason as you. I cut myself on a food processor blade once... How do you clean the Vitamix -do the blades stay in the container? Thanks for your help- Pat

lovesroadtrips, the vitamix is easy to clean. The blades can not be removed, but they are also not that sharp. I just fill the container with warm water (about 3/4 full), put a few drops of dish soap in, put the lid on and run it for a few seconds. Then I do dry the sides if the container and shake out the final drops. It's really easy.

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

Just to throw another wrench into the works, I recently bought a Blendtec from HSN. I compared it to the VitaMix and chose the Blendtec because of the blade (not sharp, and two "wings" - easier and safer to clean if you need to get in there), the power (a little stronger than Vitamix) and the keypad w/pre-programmed timers.

Some prefer the VitaMix, others the BlendTec for different reasons. I don't think you can go wrong with either -- they're pretty comparable.

BUT --the Ninja doesn't compare to either, IMO. I tried to "juice" beets in my Ninja and it came out with the most disgusting pulpy texture - I literally spit it out and dumped the rest. Tried it w/my Blendtec -- pretty much identical to when I'd use a juicer.

Good luck! I know it's a tough decision!

EDIT: I realize I have the NutriBullet, not the Ninja. My conclusion is the same, obviously. Go with the Vitamix (and possibly consider the Blendtec).

I wondered this question myself. Glad you asked, sunnybrook! Thanks, too, for all the great replies.

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

Hands down...the Vitamix wins. I have bought a Ninja blender and a Breville juicer over the past couple years. Finally splurged on the Vitamix. It's a beast. Nothing else like it. Definitely go for the Vitamix. You can get it on easy pay on QVC.
