Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

Nine years ago I cut through a tendon in my thumb with a little "ninja style" thing that had very sharp blades. I have stayed away from the Ninja since it has 9-10 of these sharp blades. They seem to need to be handled, like being pulled out, etc.

When I saw how easy it is to clean a Vitamix, I ordered one and also noticed that the blades were not that sharp. I am so glad I found this machine.

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

I like my Ninja but when I got into juicing I bought a Nutribullet. Its much cheaper than the Vitamix but will completely blend hard vegetables like carrots, ginger, beets. The Ninja will leave chunks. The Nutribullet will not make hot soup but I did'nt need that.

I got mine on sale at Kohl's for about $129 and it came with a recipe book. One thing...get the 900 model, not the 600

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

Clem- I realized I never use my Ninja because I am afraid to clean it for the same reason as you. I cut myself on a food processor blade once... How do you clean the Vitamix -do the blades stay in the container? Thanks for your help- Pat

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

For what you want this is an easy choice. The Ninja is incapable of complete emulsification and therefore is not a good juicer for ""heavy"" juicing and it cannot heat by friction so soups are out as well.

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

Consumer reports says that the Ninja is just as good as the Vitamix, but I agree that for juicing you want the Nutribullet 900 or Vitamix. I love my Ninja, but would get a Nutribullet to make smoothies.

You are comparing apples to oranges. No comparison. The Vitamix is in a class by itself!

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

For juicing, you need a...juicier...which removes the pulp. The Vitamix will not separate the pulp...it will blend it, but not juice. Vitamix, though, is an amazing machine for blending. Two thumbs up.

Re: Ninja blender or Vitamix????

Vitamix - made in the USA. That alone was enough for me. How many small appliances can you say that about anymore? You clean the Vitamix with a few drops of dish soap & water, then run it a few seconds. Then rinse and rinse.
