I live in an apartment and most often fry fish. But as expected, the fish odor permeates all over including my bedroom. Will using a deep fryer somehow help with controlling the odor ? For those of you who believes so, please recommend a brand and model. I will just need a small one because of space constraints. Thanks.

Just buy a take out fish fry and throw the garbage out immediately.
No fryer in the world will mask the odor of frying fish!
IMO...

I agree with Terrier - frying is frying and no matter how you deep-fry something your house/apt WILL smell like it.

Well I would tend to agree with what has been said for most all frying, but I have had good success with frying catfish in the older Delonghi Rotofryer which is more closed than most fryers, and the important thing for us is that it has a very effective dual filtering system.
In addition this fryer allows you to use less oil and save/filter your used oil.
Now the bad news,
it is hard to get the older versions as the new models do not seal as well and they do not have the dual filtration, but if you could get an older one,, you are set especially if you have the option to try and return it if it is not what you want.
The model that you do want to get if you can is the D 895 UX
