Hello can anyone suggest a decent set of non stick pans/set for my son? He lives alone in his apartment and when he moved out I gave him lot's of my used things to get started. His birthday is later this month and he wanted a new set of cookware.
I have looked over at HSN....not sure what's truly good there reviews for lines are mixed...seems they are the best ever or the worst ever LOL! Same here on Q.....not sure what brand/line would be best.
THank you for the help!![]()

Why don't you buy him a stainless set from Costco?

I bought my daughter one of Curtis Stones Durapans at HSN for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She said nothing sticks to it! It was the 12 inch one, nice and deep, with 2 helper handles and glass lid. I also got her the steamer insert for it. I would love to get a whole set of his Durapans!

Thirty nine years ago, my in laws purchased a set of Farberware pots as a pre-wedding gift for my husband and me. They are basic stainless steel with no special interior coating. They have been used daily for all those years and still look brand new. I would buy the same brand again if I needed a new set. I wish I had bought my daughter this brand of cookware when she married 4 years ago. She picked out an expensive, well known brand that is not holding up very well.

Check JCPenney. I got mine there about five or six years ago ... still in great shape. Watch for sale. I didn't pay much and it came with all the utencils, measuring cups .... everything you need that goes with pots and pans.

Stainless is not non-stick, believe me. Sure, if you know how to cook in it, but most of us don't. I did buy a Kirkland (Costco's brand) set of nonstick several years ago that I am still using all of except the large skillet finally bit the dust. I am currently trying out a Curtis Stone Durapan skillet. So far it has been quite good; time will tell. It seems most of these super nothing sticks to it pans are great until one day they suddenly aren't so great and everything sticks to it, so I'm waiting to see if the CS pan stands the test of time.

@tsavoriteI recently bought Analon cookware. I really enjoy cooking with them. It took me about 2 years to make that decision. ![]()

I would suggest Curtis Stone durapan set of cookware from HSN best pans I've had in a very long time. Nothing sticks and excellent quality.
edited: just saw 3 sets of black available HSN #495-609
$169 (they were $119 yesterday😤but said "sold out" guess someone cancelled). I'd buy these.
Not sure how much & what kinda cook your son is but I bought Caphalon set at Kohl for my son. He is just starting to enjoy cooking & these pans are perfect. (I used my 30% and they were on sale). Only piece I bought additional was the 12" covered saucepan. He has given them good review.
Happy Birthday to him!

I haven't gotten anything from Curtis Stone but keep reading great reviews, he does sell some of his things at walmart. Maybe go to that site & look at his durapans.
