My revised opinion regarding Le Creuset

I got my first one about a year ago and posted that I was somewhat disappointed in its performance.  Everything was sticking to it, for instance.  Some of you suggested that I don't add the oil until the pot is already warm, and that did the trick.  Over the past few months I've come to depend on that pot more and more.  I had Amazon points saved up and today I got its baby brother!  Big Green met Little Green today and I'm delighted with them both.  Thank you for your helpful suggestions.my two le creuset pots.JPG

Hi house cat. Those are gorgeous! Le Creuset is definitely on my foodie wish list. I wanted to ask if you use metal or silicone utensils? For years I would always see (and still do) chefs on cooking shows using metal spoons, spatulas, and especially whisks yet when I see the demos on QVC they use silicone.  I doubt that those French chefs or home cooks used silicone (though they may have used wooden utensils).  Thanks for sharing your results.

@ChazzyLady

I use wooden utensils or silicone.

I got them by putting all my mom and dad's expenses on a credit card the last three years, then paying it every month. It helped me keep track of their expenses and I earned points to use on Amazon.com - last year I got the big one for $40+points and I got the little one this week for free!  The party's over, though, because Mom and Dad passed away, so I closed the card and DH and I don't have one, though I'm thinking of it just for the points.

House_cat, congrats on your new baby! I love, love, love Le Creuset! A friend of mine who lives in San Francisco turned me on to it about a year ago and I've been hooked ever since.  She's always finding good deals at the LC outlet! I'm so jealous bc we don't have an outlet near me. Maybe that's a good thing, tho! :-) Thanks for the tip about sticking. I've been having issues w/that when cooking eggs.

Re: My revised opinion regarding Le Creuset

I have had a large one for several years.  My only complaint is that the older I get the heavier it gets when it is full of food!
