@SharkE - I have the same Technique 8 qt. oval pressure cooker that I also bought a long time ago from QVC.  I used it to make corned beef, cabbage, potatoes & carrots for St. Paddy's Day.  It came out delicious.  I would like to replace it as it is hard anodized and very heavy, but I still want an oval.  HSN has an 8 qt. oval from the GeekChef brand, which I'm not at all familiar with. Why doesn't Instant Pot make an oval which is the shape of chickens, roasts, ribs, etc.?  Enjoy your posts!

Yeah, very few ovals in the world. I got from Amazon a 4 qt oval pressure cooker I use to make chicken and dumplings in. It's refurbished, but, never had any trouble with it. Seems like I bought an extra too, because so , hard to find.

My best advice is to try all the different places online. Sooner or later it might be created. I like that one we both got because it is heavier means it was made back before they started making stuff so cheap and disposable.

Wonder if Ninja will ever make anything oval !  Foodi rules !

Re: My purchase today

[ Edited ]

Unfortunately, I have to send mine back.  The bottom  has a protruding glob of  hard extra coating that would be lethally damaging to any glass or induction cooktop, even though the item is advertised as being induction and glasstop safe.

The exterior surface is very scratchy anyway and could mess up smooth cooking surfaces.

I think anyone who needs a cooking vessel of this size will get along just fine with it on a gas-burner cooktop or in the oven.  It is a very attractive piece for the right kitchen and cook.
