Two years ago I ordered three different sets, last year I ordered one set, and this year I'm not buying. They are hard to eat! I wish she would make them with a coating of chocolate rather than all that caramel. Also, no one I've given them to have mentioned if they liked them or not, so I'm guessing they didn't.
I always felt the apples were fresh. The caramel is just too much. Uncle G's (a specialty store by me) makes them with all chocolate. They are about $5 a piece, but that's all I would want, since I'm not giving these as gifts anymore.

We ordered these for years with great results. A few years ago they switched to small non granny smith apples. Bad move. I haven't ordered any for a couple of years. I'm sure you will enjoy this years offering now that they are back to offering large granny smith again.

Many years ago, I made my own "gourmet caramel apples". They were fabulous, but also a lot of work. I've often been tempted by Mrs. Prindables, but have read some not-so-good reviews of them. Now with our expensive dental work, neither DH or I should be biting into hard caramel so I guess I'll never know what a Mrs. Prindable's is like.

Silvestri apples from HSN are also very good and usually a better deal.

Didn't know Costco offered caramel apples-need to make a stop there tomorrow. Thx!They sell them in the Deli section of our costco. They have Thanksgiving themed apples. There are 3 in a pack and they are 14 bucks

They are Mrs Prindables! I am in No California and they are in our Costco's. They are where they sell the deli stuff like Tamales, hummus, avocado dip, premade meat loaf and such.

IMO they would take up too much real estate in the fridge at a time of the year when there is no room to spare in there.

When Mrs Prindable's started at QVC they were known for their crisp, sweet, large Washington apples. They used the red delicious I think. They were to die for. About 4 years after they started with QVC they switched apples. Smaller, mushy. It was a qwap shoot ordering! Sometimes they were good, other times horrid. I quit ordering 14 years ago. They are not as special as they were. Rocky Mountain if you have one close, has fresher apples that taste better. They make smaller batches in their store. Mrs Prindables makes a wonderful apple, if you get the "right" one. They are just not dependable. When I sent gifts, and they were bad apples, I was mad. They sent replacements...but they were bad! I just quit.

My same exact experience. Q "makes items especially for the QVC customer" and the quality is just low.
Doesn't say much for us.

I have purchased these several times in the past and been very pleased. One year they were a little softer on the inside and not crisp....so I called and told them. They refunded me. If you let them sit out for 1/2 hr at room temp, the caramel is not hard. It is not sticky....doesn't stick to your teeth. It is a wonderful caramel, and can be chewed without ruining any dental work.
If you buy them and aren't happy, call and tell them, but this is a good company that makes a nice item. Don't cancel because someone tells you something that may not be the case when you purchase them yourself. Try them...you may just love them!
