Re: Most disliked vegetable.

Technically not a vegetable, but I cannot bear mushrooms, they are SO gross.

I also do not like collard greens or bok choy, blech.  I don't like the stem part of kale but the leaves are OK.

Brussel Sprouts! OMG

As a kid I used to sneak them under the table to our black lab, who loved then, but sadly they gave him tremendous gas! It horrified my parents to no end! Poor dog would clear the room.....my parents didn't know about it until years later when I finally filled them in as to why! I was a naughty child!

Re: Most disliked vegetable.

I have yet to meet a veggie I don't like. The dislikes are due to cooking, usually overcooking!

I'm not a fan of celery raw or cooked. But my stuffing recipe calls for it and I chop it up real small so it is okay. Larger pieces when I see it in a dish, I just put it aside. Cilantro is a whole other story. It really stinks up the whole dish and I can taste it yuck.

There are so many vegetables I have never cooked with or probably tasted. I don't think I ever had celery root or turnips. Unless it is served in a restaurant and I didn't know it. I like taro which most people never tasted.

I like most vegetables but....there are exceptions.  I drink a kale shake every morning. YUCK - it contains 1 cup of almond milk, 4 cups of kale, 3/4 cup blueberries and 1 banana. I just gulp it down for I believe it is good for me but I'm not lingering and sipping it slowly.

@ yahooey

If you peel an orange and add it to your smoothie, you won't taste the kale.

It appears we if all get stranded on a desert island together, there will be plenty of lima beans available...

That about describes it! If we take them with us though, we'll be able to build a raft out of them, to get off of the island! LOL!! Smiley Very Happy

I won't eat turnips or parsnips. Not too fond of beans but really don't like kidney beans and lima beans.I much prefer beans to be dried, not canned. I won't eat frozen brussel sprouts but fresh cut in half and tossed in olive oil then roasted I love them.

I can eat just about any vegetable as long as it's prepared well. If veggies are overcooked I can't stand them. And for some, I need cheese sauce or butter to make them edible, i.e., broccoli.

My DH will not eat vegetables unless they are cooked to mush. So I cook them to where I like them, set mine aside, and toss his in the microwave and cook them to death.Seriously, i can't cook them enough for him, I should probably just buy him baby food veggies.
