We also use A LOT of garlic, and buy it minced in large jars at Sams.

I've found the minced garlic in oil or water has very little taste and I do not care for it.  I use Spice World peeled garlic in comes in a vacuum sealed bad and is in the fresh vegetable section.  It is, already, peeled and ready to be chopped or minced or used whole cloves.  Lasts quite awhile in the refrigerator.  It's a pleasure!

If you have a Costco nearby they have their brand Kirkland Signature Minced California Garlic.....48 oz jar....5.49.  I use this and it's very good quality.

@proudlyfromNJ,

That's exactly how us Jersey women do it!

I used to buy fresh all the time and it would go bad or whatever.

I have dried garlic and dried toasted garlic that I use now.  My favorite spice places are Penzy, The Spice House or Rockerbox Spices.  Rockerbox has  no fillers in their mixes and most of their spirces are garlic based.  I believe it was either the owners father or grandfather who had a garlic farm.

This really is a great buy.  I've bought it in the past, but couldn't use it up fast enough.  Plus it's a large jar taking up space in the fridge, just like my large jars of olives - LOL 🤷‍♀️. Value wise, though, it's good, even if you end up pitching some.

@Mom in NY - I hate peeling and chopping fresh garlic too.  I buy a bag of peeled fresh garlic, take out my KA chopper and do the whole bag.  I keep it in a glass jar, add a little oil, stir and refrigerate.  It stays great in the in the fridge for a long time. Just spoon out what you need.

@nana59, this past week I bought a jar of minced garlic in water and the use by date is December 16, 2023.

@Mom in NY I buy Penzeys Minced Garlic. Thrilled to have found this as I'll never have to peel and mince garlic ever again. It's freeze dried and rehydrates quickly. Taste is outstanding, just like fresh when cooking with it.
