Back to basics - nothing news shaking here but a posting to offer another topic.....

I've bought almost every new machine on the market for easier meal making.

The IPot - 3 air machines, etc., etc...

Decided to go back to basics - the REYNOLDS cooking in a bag - cheap for 2 bags per box, and  easy clean up = just throw the bag in trash.

Had big pork country rib package - cooked in bag for 2 hours with onions, etc.  Came out great - meat fell off the bone - full of flavor - and zip in clean up.

I didn't have to monitor the process during the 2 hours of cooking........Back to Basics...................

When was the last tim you did a 'bag meal' ?

@fthunt Ages ago I would make post roast in one. Added cup up potatoes and carrots. We didn't like onions with ours. Everything was fork tender and we loved the juice on the carrots! Haven't used them since DS got married (he's 52) and DH died. But they were great!

My husband used to cook so many meals in the Reynolds bags. Don't know why we stopped. It was so easy to clean up afterward.

@fthunt   Always and forever.  I make turkeys, brisket, short ribs, & beef stew, all in cooking bags.   They help shorten the cooking time and self baste.  Always delicious.

I've never made a bag meal.  But, I have made meals in wrapped foil on the bbq grill.

Me, either. But I always wanted to.

You can also throw those wrapped foils in the oven. Campfire specials.

Slice of onion, slices of raw potato, hamburger patty on top - all seasoned, of course.

I haven't cooked a bag meal in forever!   For me I LOVE my crockpot and a lot of my dinners get cooked in that, especially roasts.

@fthunt --I love those cooking bags----the ones I always have and use are the ones for crock pots--same type of thing really----wouldn't be without my airfryer tho--just bought a new one recently and man, do I love it!! I use that and my Breville oven all the time---and my crockpot too. I also have a 3qt pressure cooker that I use too. I cooked pork spare ribs in my crock pot a week ago too--used my moms recipe for the sauce and OMG---it was amazing!!!
