I admit it, I'm a s*ucker for kitchen gadgets. Today my TSV Genius mixer thing was delivered, I haven't tried it yet. I also received my MCM Egg Cooker. I couldn't wait to give that thing a try. I've tried numerous methods of boiling eggs and I can never get them to peel easily or cleanly. Let me tell you, this little cooker is just the thing I needed. It worked like a charm!

DH & I saw on Pioneer Woman for hard boiled eggs: boil for 10 min, then a 20 minute ice bath. DH boils his own eggs and totally loves this, hasn't failed once. Even on new eggs.

JeanLouise - I know what you mean! It really is a little wonder. I can whip out deviled eggs now like nobody's business! It also works great for a quick little omelet in the morning. I can't tell you how many eggs I have mangled trying to peel them, but not anymore
It's funny that it works so well because it kind of looks like a toy. I know you are really going to enjoy using it, I sure do!

I almost bought that yesterday, but dumped it from my cart at the last minute. Sounds like that was a mistake

betteb, if you cook a lot of hardboiled eggs I think you would really enjoy it. My husband and I are trying to eat low carb and deviled eggs are a great snack, but I HATE peeling eggs. When I boil the eggs in the egg cooker they almost fall off by themselves (OK, slight exaggeration). This gadget gets used almost every day. I use it to make myself a two egg omelet sometimes too. I have tried making softboiled eggs but I need a little more practice. I would definitely give this a try.

I have had three different brands and kinds of egg cookers over the years and all of them have worked great! I wouldn't be without one because they are cheap and reliable and you can walk away from the little eggs while they cook and they turn out just fine. AND are always easy to peel. All cookers were inexpensive and easy to store.

I got one of those cookers the other day also!!!! Made six hard-boiled eggs the other day and I'll tell you, they are the best hard-boiled eggs I've ever tasted! They were PERFECT! I've been hit or miss with various methods of cooking eggs. The one item that worked OK for me was the red "egg" that you put into the water with your eggs and it shows various stages of doneness. But I still had issues sometimes with eggs being hard to peel. With this little cooker, the shell came off so easy! I did leave them in the cooker an extra few minutes to be sure they were as hard-boiled as I like. Great little purchase!!!!

I've never had a problem cooking eggs or peeling them. No ice bath, either, I just run them under cold water until they're cool enough to peel, then do it. Works every time.
