I can't find a thread here that explained how to make a large crockpot smaller. Something about putting water in the crock and placing a smaller oven proof dish in the crock. Can anyone help me find this or explain again how to do it. I'm thought it was a great idea! TIA. LM

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a separate, smaller crock pot? I don't think I'd want to try the method you mentioned.

Hi AuntG. Yes, you're probably right. I don't use the crockpot very often so liked the idea of not having the clutter of owning two rarely used small appliances. I seem to recall that a method was described using a water bath and one also was described simply placing an oven safe smaller dish inside the crockpot. Not the end of the world but was hoping someone could remember the post. A check through my own posts might reveal it so I will check there.
