Local grocery store carries this at half the price the Q charges.  Bought it once--it is simply awful tasting. Tastes like swamp water.  Yuk. The hosts and brand ambassador who rave about how wonderful this foul tasting broth is are not truthful.  The reviews say it all.

I purchase the Kirkland (Costco) Organic Chicken sipping bone broth.  It has 9 grams of protein and only 95 mg of sodium per serving.

I do not get the whole 'bone broth' fad. It's nothing special, people! It's the way stock has always been made, & is as easy as 1,2,3.

For chicken stock, pick the meat from a Costco $4.99 rotisserie chicken, & throw the rest of the shebang into a pot, pour in some water, onion, carrot celery & a bay leaf, slap on a lid and simmer.

It's free, & you control the sodium.

I don't really get the bone broth fad either.  Now, I never cook whole chickens and I'm also not going to buy a rotisserie chicken just to make chicken stock.  At Thanksgiving, I noticed the broth I did had was expired.  So, the other day at the grocery store, I see this Lonolife bone broth and figured, if anything, it might be a richer-tasting broth.  And since it was powdered, it would be easy to keep on-hand if I needed broth.  

I decided to mix one up and drink it.   I've had just regular broth before, so I was expecting something similar.  This stuff was awful, and I was thinking if this is what bone broth tastes like, I want nothing to do with that.  

So, tell me, are other bone broths better-tasting?  BTW, it was the Chicken and had 700 mg of sodium.  I'm not watching my sodium though.  I still have what's left and I went to check and see if, by chance, it was the same brand.

LOL, @Icegoddess, I don't purchase rotisserie chicken w/ making 'bone broth' the sole intent.

I just can't bear to waste anything!

@sabatini , I get it.  I just never buy rotisserie chickens.  Usually, I'll just buy boneless chicken breasts or chicken tenders depending on what I'm doing.  DH is not into leftovers so much, so I end up having to eat them all if we have them.  I also don't often cook meals where I actually need chicken broth, which is why I just like to have some on hand, just in case.

@katie1859  Tried it a few years ago. Absolutely disgusting taste, could not stand more than 2 sips and into the GARBAGE it went. I also learned  when considering food items from qvdc to always look online at the nutrition info label. They often claim foods are healthy when they are actually loaded with bad stuff, in this case you are right. Very high sodium. Also  every food item that i ordered that was suppose to be frozen was thawed upon arrival to my door. Needless to say, i do not purchase any food items from q anymore. Never again.
