I love the rich holiday food and I've been known to overindulge in snacks and cookies. However, it's almost like my body knows that the party is over. I've been craving salads and vegetables in general. My grocery order will be very different this week . It was fun, but it's time to get back to normal. Sigh.🙁

Me, too. I'm fixing to start making a big salad now. Can't wait to dive in. My body IS telling me it's time to get back on track. I will miss some holiday indulgences, but my 'normal' is when I feel my best.

I love salads and always have them at the ready.

About twice a week, I wash and cut up different lettuce varieties and spinach and mix them with cut carrots, radishes, celery and cherry tomatoes in a big container.

I then cut up cucumbers and onions and store them seperately.

When I am ready to serve, I add the salad mix to individual bowls and add the cucumbers and onions, if desired along with whatever protein I want...eggs, chicken or  beans and dressing.  Sometimes I nuts or dried fruit too.

The cucumbers and onions don't keep well in the precut salad mix.  They are too wet and make the greens go bad quickly.

I eat a salad almost everyday, even at holiday time.  I use my food processor a lot.

It is so much easier to prep salad mix a few times a week instead of everyday.

I don't buy precut salad mixes that keep getting recalled for salmonella.  I make my own.

I love veggies and salad...yummm.

I like vegetables; raw or cooked, but am not a big fan of lettuce.  Salad doesn't thrill me.

We continued to have our salads throughout the holiday season.  I too make my own salads by washing the different types of lettuce (about to wear out the current spinner) and I add in lots of freshly cut veggies.  I also buy boxes of special greens (like spring mix) that are locally grown and carried by several area grocery stores to add to the mix.  Fortunately, my husband loves the salads too and encourages me to take the time to make them.  We both had to have a salad dinner during the holidays.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

100%!  I'm used to having tossed salad several times a week and it feels like I haven't for nearly a couple of weeks. I've stayed legal with my foods, except for two bites of my sister's pie, but I know I've overindulged on the legal foods. I'm back on track again but need to shop Thursday and restock my fridge.

I think if you are really hungry salad is the best. All that fiber is very filling. But, honestly, I have never craved salads. Lobster bisque soup, corn chips with salsa and melted cheese? Now that I crave...😄
