@Icegoddess,  I didn't mean to imply feeding bone broth just using it as a topper.  I feed my dogs a combination of wet and dry food and adding just a bit of bone broth makes it more palatable at least to me.  Not sure the dogs really care.

Taurine is the ingredient not usually added to dog food since they can produce it while cats cannot.

The big problem with cat food for dogs is the amount of protein and fat.  The nutritional needs of dogs and cats are so different. They generally need the same nutrients but in vastly different amounts.

When researching pet foods I find Chewy to be one of the most informative sites since they breakdown the ingredients and nutritional values.  Not always the best prices but the primary site I use to help make decisions then comparison shop.

My cat's main food is Fancy Feast pate but when I give her a variety with gravy or broth she will lap up the gravy like there is no tomorrow.

Good luck with your cat.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

It was a big NOPE for me.  I thought it was going to be good, the way the salespeople talk about it.  But it was so very bad.

And last night, David going on and on about it with his sales pitch about wrapping your hands around the hot cup to warm them up on a cold winter's night, blah, blah, blah.

I tried the chicken, maybe the other flavors are better but how bad can you go with chicken broth?  In the case of Lano Life, very.

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.

@Marp Queso is on a super speical Urinary AND Novel Protein diet.  His dry food is a Hydrolyzed plant protein and his wet is potato and rabbit which became unavailable for several months this year, so he had to settle for a Hills diet for sensitive stomachs which he tolerated well, but neither of us liked.

He prefers the canned and is now getting it except for the morning feed.  Of course, it's more expensive than the dry.  He still would prefer the other cat's food and will leave his behind after a bit to go check and see if he can get some of it.  Then, he'll come stomping back expecting to get the rest of what he left behind.  I have to pick it up when he leaves it behind because Houdini is a little Hoover.

Queso is also 18 1/2 and may have other issues, but I won't put him through surgery or treatments, so it is what it is.  I'm just trying to keep what weight he currently has on him.  Sometimes he acts like he's starved, but won't eat his food.

Thanks for the recommendation.

from reading all the posts it doesn't sound something I would like.    I wouldn't want something with high sodium content either.

I guess I'm really weird.  I always take the "soup bones" when we get our ranch beef cut up.  I cook them with water and the usual celery, onions, carrots, and spices for several hours.  I let it cool, skim any fat and freeze for when I need beef broth.  Do the same with chicken.  Delicious and healthy.
