@hovis I think it depends on the type of microwave you have...I put Lock & Lock in the microwave (countertop) all the time but several months ago I used my Mom's over the stove microwave and did not realize the bowl started to melt (her microwave does not take long to heat/cook food)...needless to say I had to buy her a replacement!

Some microwave ovens are powered at 1,100 watts or higher.  Others can be as low-powered as 800 watts.  

 

Cooking times for all foods and items need to be adjusted according to one's own oven strength.

I’ve used LnL in the microwave for years & years & they NEVER “melted” 🙃

I choose not to so certain foods and liquids won't "bubble" the inside.  Tomato products  will discolor the plastic.
